...Marry Me MISFIT. By kerra white Marry Me Mistfit, That is not a joke. The Mistfit seems to be a mysterious guy, who honestly has no idea why he was being punished, "I call myself The Misfit […] because I can't make what all I done wrong fit what all I gone through in punishment" (Pg. ). The story goes thorough and he is the major topic on people’s mind ever since he escaped the ‘pin’. He seems intelligent, but is the one character that actually questions life and religion. The Misfit was Put away in Prison for killing his father, but as the story goes on, he questions why he was punished, he was convinced that he had not killed his father. He spoke with certainly that His father, Had died from the epidemic flu, and he was charged with a false crime."It was a head doctor who said what I had done was kill my daddy but I known that for a lie. My daddy died in nineteen ought nineteen of the epidemic flu and I never had a thing to do with it. He was buried in the Mount Hopewell Baptist churchyard and you can go there and see for yourself." (pg.) The Misfit seems to be a very confusing person, He was talking to the old Lady about where he came from, and when the old lady asked about his parents, he told her that they were the “finest people in the world” (pg.), and even states that his “daddy’s heart was pure gold” (Pg.). But what seems to be the question was the misfit lying about killing his father or was he innocent? The question is never really told, but from the ending...

...Abstract In this paper, we will show public receptions and the acceptance of different marriage preferences between males and females. To start this experiment, major characteristics were explored in order to formulate various test questions. Based on 24 questionnaires with college students, all which were of different backgrounds and economic statuses. The correlation between the willingness of both genders to marry a person with certain characteristic was being measured. It was believed that males would be more willing to marry one with the studied characteristics. After the results were compiled, it was concluded that males were more willing to marry a person with more characteristic than females. This study suggests that females have more or higher standards in a partner than a male does. Will you marry me? This is a question that arises in many conversations between most couples. Few things remain consistent or predictable from one generation to the next. It has been said that the only thing constant is change, and the speed with which social trends and values change in American society seems testament to this. The cycle of life itself is the common line that ties each generation of life to the next. In American life at least, the cycle of life manifests through the tradition of marriage. Seeking, pursuing, and securing a desired mate is the most natural expression of life possible. However, marriage trends and ideals are not themselves stationary. Over the...

...Should Homosexuals be allowed to Marry? Kelsey Laird PHI 103: Informal Logic Prof. Gloria Zungia y Postigo July 16, 2013 Marriages are said to be a legally recognized relationship, established by civil or religious ceremonies, between two people who vow to love one another till death do them part. Usually, marriages take place between a man and a woman, in love. However, the world is changing and more people are coming out to be homosexuals, who cannot make this legal vow to love their partner till death do them part. The United States is called the land of the free for many reasons, but if it is supposed to be free then it should be free for everyone, not just selected people. This argumentative paper will discuss both sides of homosexual marriage and reasons on why it should be legal and why it should not be legal. Every person born in the United States is born with civil rights which may include: race, religion, and sex. Having the option to marry the person you love is a right given to you at birth. Homosexuals, however, are being discriminated against due to their relationships with people of the same sex. Ferguson (2007) quotes “So, one common argument for gay marriage is that government denial of the legal right to gay marriage deprives gays and lesbians of access to the social sanction and status that marriage confers, and hence to full adulthood, rights to familial or joint property and inheritance rights, and full citizenship” (p. 40). To summarize...

...In the article “Marry Him!” posted by The Atlantic, Lori Gottlieb, the author, tries to convince readers to “settle” at a young age when it comes to potential mates, instead of looking for the perfect soul mate. She has a unique perspective on marriage because of her experiences and age. I do not agree with Gottlieb about needing to settle at a young age, but I do appreciate the view she has. One cannot make lists and lists of traits their mate must have, but focus on finding the individual who completes him/her. As Gottlieb advises not to settle, better advice would be to not get wrapped up in lengthy requirements. However, if I was in my forties and had never been married, I might share her feelings on this issue. There is a compatible person out there for everyone, but the difficulty is finding him or her. Lori Gottlieb polls her friends on being married, and finds their comments very disappointing. I hope the statement, “Oh, you’re so lucky, you don’t have to negotiate with your husband about the cost of piano lessons,” was said as a joke. In the event that it was serious, it is very sad that that wife viewed her marriage in that manner. Marriage should not be about arguing over the petty things, but enjoying and edifying each other in love. Marriage takes work. It is sometimes difficult to not have arguments and fight, but if someone settles with someone they do not 100 percent love, it could be even more difficult to find common ground. I also found the part...

Scott Fitzgerald, characters; Daisy and Myrtle, practice this idea by going after the rich and successful, Tom Buchanan and Jay Gatsby. ...Marry Wollstonecraft and Her Role in Activism Mary Wollstonecraft was a powerful thinker, philosopher, and women’s rights activist born in Spitalfields, London on 27 April 1759. According to Taylor, Mary Wollstonecraft made several accomplishments during her brief career including writing several novels, making treaties, travel narratives; conduct books, history of the French, and the children book (32). Besides her career, Mary Wollstonecraft is well recognized not only for the vindication of women’s rights but significantly advocated for the equal rights and opportunities for both men and women. In 1792, Mary Wollstonecraft was quoted saying that women were not naturally inferior to men rather appeared to be because they had no education. The 18th century notion of women being less important part of the society deterred the “integration of their rights” into the human rights was unthinkable (Miriam 43). However, Mary Wollstonecraft argued that if a man was born free and entitled to every human dignity so should be the woman. The understanding of human rights and liberties became the core pillar of Mary Wollstonecraft in the vindication of equal education opportunities for men and women. Mary Wollstonecraft has been severally quoted by today’s human rights activists in the fight against gender based violence among other injustices in many parts of the world. Unfortunately, Mary Wollstonecraft’s vindications and vision for the women freedom has not been fully realized nearly...

...CS #2 Never Marry a “Neat –Freak” 1. Early symptoms of Hantavirus include fatigue, fever and muscle aches, headaches, dizziness, chills, abdominal problems, and fatigue. Later symptoms are coughing, and shortness of breath. This disease is carried by rodents, especially deer mice and is found in their urine and feces, but it does not make the animal sick. It is believed that humans can get sick with this virus if they come in contact with contaminated dust from mice nests or droppings. Someone may come in contact with such dust when cleaning homes, sheds, or other enclosed areas that have been empty for a long time. There is no specific treatment of Hantavirus, but patients are usually treated in an intensive-care facility and often require respiratory support (intubation). Experimentally, physicians have administered the antiviral medication called ribavirin, but there are no clear data currently that verify that the drug is effective against the disease. The earlier the patient is brought in to intensive care, the better. If a patient is experiencing full distress, it is less likely the treatment will be effective. 2. The chance of being exposed to Hantavirus is greatest when people enter enclosed spaces where rodents are actively living. The virus can become airborne through stirring up virus-contaminated particles, such as by sweeping. The mice or rodents must have been living in the unused cabin, and when the patient and his “ultimate neat-freak” girlfriend started cleaning...

...Friar Lawrence did have a very valid reason to marry Romeo and Juliet. The war between the two families was getting out of hand. A officer and citizen had to stop a fight between the Montagues and Capulets. The Prince came in and said to the fighting men, “Your lives shall pay the forfeit of the peace. For this time all the rest depart away.” (Kinsella 774) The Prince was saying that the feud between the families have been going on way too long, and anymore fights, they shall be punished. ...relationships. What if you couldn’t choose who you got to marry when you grow up? Well in the Elizabethan Era, most people’s parents choose who they were going to marry when they grew up. That’s how it was during A Midsummer Night’s Dream as well, but in today’s society, most people get to choose who they marry. In “Bringing Home the Wrong Race”, the parents tell their child what race they can and can’t marry. That’s how today’s society is. There are many similarities and differences with rules of marriage from today’s society and during Shakespeare’s time. These three articles have many things in common. In A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Egeus, Hermia’s father, explains that he can disfigure her if she does not listen to who he wants her to marry (I. i. 43-46). In the article Love and Marriage, the author states that children were property of their parents, and they had to treat them like a servant treats his master, or else. This article explains exactly what happened in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Then in...
