Change Management and Communication Plan
Riordan Manufacturing has recently decided to make a big change to their organization’s customer management plan. This change and this new system will require all employees to use one customer management system, and will take a great deal of planning to implement these changes. In order to ensure this process goes as smoothly as possible it is important to start with a change management plan. Within the change management plan many different vital topics will be discussed. Such as the different power structures inside the organization, the different company characteristics, and the strategy to implement the changes that will be taking place. The next step is to discuss the communication plan for the proposed change management plan. Last, it would be valuable to develop the message based off of everything that has been discussed.
The current formal power structure in Riordan Manufacturing is a chain of command. The chain of command power structure has a line of authority that stretches from the highest-ranking leader in the company all the way down to the lowest, defining who answers to whom, and who has final say in a situation. This will result in a very structured work environment in which each employee understands who they have authority over and who has authority over them. The informal power structure is a team-oriented working environment. This results in close communities that emphasize on teamwork and communication to accomplish tasks, but can also result in conflict amongst employees.
An appropriate and effective organizational structure that could benefit Riordan is self-directed teams. Riordan’s team environment would be a great fit for self-directed teams which offer many advantages. For one thing, they boost morale and motivation by empowering
