Introduction:
This document is meant for accomplishing the first assignment on the kind of communications model we are practicing in our current workplace along with observing the effects of diversity, competition, and ethics on the communications within our organization. Plus discussing two situations where communications within our workplace have been unsuccessful and finally analyzing the basis for the causes of those break downs is covered.
Kinds of communication model used in DABS:
My current workplace in Da Afghanistan Bereshna Sherekat (Afghan National Electric Utility), known as DABS providing electricity all over Afghanistan, DABS operates and manages electric power generation, import, transmission, and distribution throughout Afghanistan on a commercial basis, meanwhile DABS is a limited liability company with all its equity shares owned by the Government of Afghanistan , being as a government entity the communication model differ from other organizations, where DABS previously practiced administrative management communication approach , since funding by USAID under a project called KESIP (Kabul Electricity Service Improvement Program) human relations approach being adopted, where talented and more skilled employees are hired with a new notion of managerial communication skills. DABS workplace values the relationship between managers and workers and it emphasis on authority and discipline . The kind of models communication used in DABS is one-way communication, heavy reliance on written jobs instructions and rules .
Recognizing diversity means understanding how manager’s differences and similarities for their managerial communication within an organization can be utilized for the benefit of the individual, the organization and the stakeholders as a whole.
