When a problem comes up, the first thing one must do is find a solution to said problem. Light pollution has become a growing concern now more than ever before. Artificial lights are not only affecting our environment but it has now created a cause of awareness for humans as well. In the article “Bringing back the Night: A Fight against Light Pollution”, Bogard explains how damaging the effects from artificial lights are. Even though the gravity of the situation has become even more unprecedented, there is a solution. Light pollution affects everyone, regardless of location and time of day. It is a serious issue that wastes money and resources while putting in danger not just us but wildlife, the environment, everyone’s health.We must implement ways to combat light pollution before the situation gets out of hand. “Experts say it is far more important to use light effectively than abundantly.” We mustn't waste anything else in order to truly change our ways and extreme excess. We must also become responsible to preserve what we have for the next generation. In conclusion, the issue about artificial lights needs to be treated immediately. There is nothing more important than taking care of what we have and preserving it for the future. The growing use of energy saving technology and the development of new lighting inventions could be a positive in this aspect because of the fact that they reduce the need for artificial light.
