We honor MLK because he was a very persuading man who spoke up for his beliefs about the blacks. MLK’s holiday celebrates the life and legacy of a man who brought hope and healing to America. I am going to talk about some information to inform you what kind of person MLK was. MLK was an American baptist minister at his African American church. This man is a leader in the African American Civil rights movement. MLK was born in 1929 on January 15 and that is the day we honor him with respect. Martin Luther King Jr said in his I have a dream speech: “I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed.”
