Abstract
Management in Health Care has provided me with invaluable information and concepts, as it relates to providing quality service to patients. Health care facilities must find ways to retain patients, add value, gain the comparative advantage, create a positive work environment, as well as maintain employee morale. In most cases the success of a health care facility begins with its staff and upper level management. The doctors, nurses, and staff are the face of the facility and if patients are not instantly happy they will instantly migrate to other facilities/organizations. Therefore, Caring Angel Hospital will need to implement major changes in order to perform well financially, and ensure employees are satisfied and constantly engaging with patients. It is imperative for staff to leave their problems at the door when they arrive to work, as patients often need someone to express their concerns with. Some diagnosis require a stronger support system than others, and typically it begins with the delivery (physicians, nurses, etc.).

When one thinks of quality, added value should also come to mind. Quality in health care is an extremely broad term, and has various definitions depending on whom you speak with. Therefore appropriate quality measurements must be in place, in order to effectively manage quality. Creating measurements will be the hardest part of the process, as the measurements must encompass all aspects of the hospital. According to Dimick, “there are hundreds of quality measures used to evaluate care, nearly all measures fall into one of the three categories measurement types – structure, outcome, and process (2010). A few include Abraham Maslow's "Hierarchy of Needs," (Starling, 2011) which encourages employers to enable their employee’s potential, Frederick Herzberg's job enrichment theory that addresses certain factors that cause satisfaction and dissatisfaction at work (Starling, 2011). In addition there's Elton Mayo's approach (Starling, 2011) to participative management that suggests workers are motivated when they believe that their organization or manager cares about them. Finally there is Dan Pink (2010) who proposes that money is not what motivates us, but “it’s the deeply human need to direct our own lives, to learn and create new things, and to do better by ourselves and our world” (Daniel H.
