The act of juggling was used for entertainment and began several years ago. For beginners, this enactment is considered to be complex. In fact, when I attempted to juggle years ago, it was a complete disaster due to inexperience I had. However, with the principles I learned in my motor learning class, it turned out to be a success.
The first principle I used to learn this skill was skill transfer. There are basic motor skills associated with juggling such as tossing and catching. I found many similarities within tossing a regular ball in the air and with tossing a ball in the air with control that can be used for juggling. I used the different strategies that I already knew to implement them into juggling.
Another principle that has helped me the most with this assignment was part practice. I isolated the skill into separate parts by integrating those separated parts into the whole skill. I also used several discrete skills found within juggling to link them together in the end of the process. For instance, at first I had to get acquainted with catching the ball in the air then catching it immediately because this seemed to be the hardest part for me. I had my cousin help me with this by throwing and catching the tennis ball with me. We slowly transitioned into the act of …show more content…
I will move on to playing catch with them just like I did with my cousin. Then, we will continue this exercise with adding an additional bean bag into the mix. The most crucial element in this scenario is timing. As the instructor, I have to make sure I’m not throwing the second bean bag too fast or too slow. I need to get the timing just right in order to demonstrate how to use the hands to catch and throw the next bean bag at the same time. This can be done by throwing the second bean bag after the first reached its arch. This particular motion has to be consistent with no lag in order for “juggling” to
