Barnes presented an argument that the Holocaust was created by Court historians and stated “To keep the public from getting bored, they manufactured stories about German crimes against humanity that were made more unceasing, exaggerated and inflammatory." (Barnes, 1967, The public stake in revisionism.) Through this there was a wide range of opinions, as there was very few people at this time arguing against the ideas that were being presented about the Holocaust. As there was only a very small amount of people, Mr Barnes was able to meet and become friends with Paul Rassinier a prof. A man commonly referred to as the father of Holocaust denial. It was through this friendship of the denialists that the concept of a historical idea started, one that would later come to be known as Historical negationism, or as it is now commonly referred to by modern historians.
