Kaden Franklin Mr. Yoder English III 2 Even 6 October 2017 One chilly fall night, Arlo and Wesley decided to go for a ride after their night shift at Burger Town. They rode around for a couple of hours when Wesley, who was driving, took a turn on to Murdle road. It was right at 1 am, and Arlo seemed a bit weary. Wesley asked him what was wrong. He was scared, with good reason. Arlo was a nervous person, so Wesley thought nothing of it and continued down the road. Murdle road was just a little country back-road that connected Macon and Fisherville. It doesn't see the amount of travel it did before Highway 192 was built connecting the two towns with a much faster and straighter path. They were taken by the bridge above the dreary swamps of the Cresent Forest. As Wesley and Arlo traveled further down the road, the full moon which cascaded its luminance across the forest was lost in the clouds of the night. The trees and thick vegetation seemed to close in on them until they reached the wooden bridge, where the bog below was surprisingly open. However, the relief was met with terror as the friends came upon a gaping hole in the bridge over a fiery pit. The fire seemingly leaped out at them, setting the bridge on fire. Arlo was, of course, scared out of his mind, but Wesley, who wasn't usually frightened easily, was even aghast. They knew they needed to get out of dodge before dodge got them. So the pedal went to the metal. They raced down the bridge staying just ahead of the blaze that trails them. Wesley swiftly made it to where he remembering the bridge beginning, but the bridge’s start wasn't to be seen. The two were confused, but they just figured it was a little further.
