...better Some people believe that it is a waste of time to have their kids go to preschool. My stance is by attending preschool children have a head start in life and it improves their future. I interviewed a friend that has a different view. My main reason is that kids have 13 years (and then college!) that they "have" to be in school. Preschool (in my opinion) is glorified daycare that takes time away that little kids should be spending with their parents. So much of what they are taught can be learned in day-to-day life (letters and early reading, counting and numbers, colors and behavior) from their parents, family, friends, and the world they interact with. Putting most kids in a classroom setting at 2, 3 or 4 years old is not necessary. There are issues (speech or hearing delays, autism, learning disabilities, etc.) that should be handled by professionals, but even then, that does not necessarily mean a school setting. Katie didn't set foot in a classroom until her first day of kindergarten. Only one of my nephews went to Head Start, and that, honestly, was just to give my SIL a break for a couple of hours because she also had a nursing newborn. All of the 7 kids on my side of the family are doing well in school, and they've never had trouble adjusting to the rules, routine, or structure of school. Keep in mind also that one of my nephews has ADHD and Katie takes medication for ADD. My (almost) 13 year old nephew has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, and still brings home...

...How Management 521 Will Benefit Me Moving Toward My Career Path Even though I have had an unusual, very challenging time with this class, which is my first class in the MBA Program, I can honestly say, it has been an “experience.” For me, Management 521 has been very helpful is so many ways. For example, the title alone, “Management 521,” stands out more than expected with me because of what I’ve gone through these last 6-8 weeks in my personal life. I had to learn how to “manage” my circumstances and “evaluate” the importance of each circumstance and find a “solution” to the issues that I was dealing with. That is management in a nutshell, in my opinion, and throughout the course of this class I have seen the parallels between management in the business world, and management outside of the realm of business. With all of that being said, I have a better understanding on management now. The major element that I’ve learned throughout this course is practicing good ethics. Good ethics will carry a person a very long way. I’ve learned that it is extremely important to be honest, secure, and follow company policies; thus, if a manager exhibits these qualities, then there employees will hopefully follow their example, which is what the manager should aim toward. “Leading by example” should be the motto that every manager should follow. I conclusion, I would like to add that Management 521 will help me move toward my career path because I have taken the understanding...

...also refers to a strong feeling of interest or enjoyment in something such as the love for adventure, sports or cars. In our colourful lives, there are many categories of living things and things that we love. To me, love is very vital than money because love can fulfill our requirements. There are the four main categories where I love a lot in my life. They are God, family, friends and pets. First and foremost, God creates this beautiful world for us to live. He has given me a good family, good health and high confidence and hope. Because of him, my life becomes more colourful and meaningful. He always do my prayers to thank him and ask for blessings. I thank God for watching over me and I hope my prayers are answered. I also ask God for forgiveness for the wrongdoings I have done. Furthermore, I love my family members deeply and they are everything to me. My beloved parents have brought me with unlimited love and care. I will always be a dutiful child and take care of them until my last breath. I also love my siblings whom I am very close to. Sharing is caring so we often share our joys and sorrows. They are willing to help me in my studies and guide me to become a useful citizen. We play indoor games and do outdoor activities together during our free time. In addition, there is a ship that will not sink. It is called “friendship”. Friends are the most important people to us after our family members. A friend in need is a friend indeed. I have many good friends of all races...

...During my life, thanks my travels, I had the opportunity to met a lot of people. If I thinking even my experience in Australia I realize that I met people not so similar to me by different ways. For example: At work: most of the people that work with me are Indonesian, French, Algerians and people with Italian’s background. In this case the first difference between me and them is the nationality. At home: my private life is sharing everyday with my boyfriend who is Polish and my flatmates which are a whole Chinese family (mother, father and daughter), a German and a English guys. During my free time I love to meet my new friends as well, in particular an English girl and two Italians girls. At school: honestly I don’t know even half of the people that are in my class but what I can see, and that’s amazing, is that we are a group of people of different nationality and ages that work to achieve the same result. In my home country: during my life in Italy I had the opportunity to meet my neighbors (a Moroccan family), my classmates (some of them are Russians and some of them are Cubans). Let say that even my family is not a “typical” Italian’s family. My grandparents and parents are both italians but my father’s siblings are married with Slovaks and Croatians people. So for me is common to hear and live with people with different languages and traditions. In all these cases I can say that all these differences fascinate me, because different nationality meaning different...

My lack of wanting to stick the status quo seems to be more problematic for my parents than me. Growing up I was constantly nagged to, “Try to fit in” and, “Not act weird”, but due to my natural instinct to rebel against my parents, I never listened. Being new and not wanting to fit in, I can be labeled as a loner. Every Friday I can be found with my mom hanging out at Half Price Books looking through 80s New Wave cds, and every week I look forward to it. If I were to tell anyone I would instantly be made fun of, yet the parties and boys that occupy other girls my age wouldn’t make me nearly as happy as I already am. In many ways being a normal sixteen year old disgusts me....

...Teacher: Minh Nhut Tran High-scoring IELTS writing http://www.facebook.com/HighScoringIeltsWriting TOPIC: These days it is neither possible nor desirable for most people to stay in the same job throughout their working life. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement? My model answer It is said that labor is glorious. In fact, everybody is in desperate need of having a fulfilling job to financially support themselves and their families. In the past , it was quite prominent for the majority of workers to do the identical job from the time they graduated from their school until they drew their pension, but that has become rare in the bustling life nowadays. First and foremost, most citizens commute their current job with the nurture of achieving further accomplishment in the future. There is a general consensus that a wide range of newly graduates entering on the workforce may have some formidable obstacles to finding a well-paid occupation on the grounds that they accumulate a dearth of practical experience. As a result, on acquiring sufficient qualifications and receiving a higher financial incentive, they may jump into another career in search of getting highly promoted. Secondly, it is crucial for almost employees to alter their job so as to avoid an adverse working conditions and a high pressure working environment. Actually, there is widespread popularity of sexual harassment in office, which may lead to workers’ physical and mental deterioration....

...concentration camps during World War II; however, Man’s Search for Meaning by Viktor E. Frankl is the both a fascinating and hopeful book from this period. This book is comprised of two primary parts. Part one is “Experiences in a Concentration Camp,” and part two is titled “Logotherapy in a Nutshell”. There is also a postscript entitled “The Case for a Tragic Optimism”. Throughout the book, Frankl gives the readers a new perspective about to how to view life and reiterates the statement that life is utterly what you decide to make of it. Frankl clearly states that he did not want to solely focus on the negative aspects from his stay in four different Concentration Camps including Auschwitz and Dachau but rather his own personal experience of survival. Immediately upon entering Auschwitz in 1942, he had to part ways with his prized almost completed scientific manuscript, which meant a great deal to him. Man’s Search for Meaning teaches the reader that it is possible to be positive in the most dire of situations. There are several factors in the book that Frankl discusses that helped him survive in the camps. He noted that there are three phases of the inmate’s mental reactions to life in camp: the admission period, the period when he is deep into the camp routine, and that after his release and liberation. His camp experience seemed nothing shy of a nightmare. Liberation was hard to accept because Dr. Frankl was not prepared for its unhappiness and disillusionment. Despite...

...responsible person. Since I was 11 years old my grandfather had me working. That gave me a head stard on becoming more responsible. I consider myself a very mentally strong person. I’ve been through a lot in my 39 years of life. I also consider my self a very helpful person. I always try to find a way to help others, but at the same time when I do that I always make sure that treat others I wish to be treated. I always make sure that if some one needs I don’t get taken advantage of. Most of the people I I find myself helping are not family members. The “Ethical Lenses” I preferred to use the most is the “Responsibilities”. One of my weaknesses is that it’s hard for me to concentrate and focus on what I’m doing. I’m the type of person that pay close attention to the actions of others and how they treat people. In the school and work environment I have noticed that some students don’nt want to be a team player. It’s hard to work with people like that, I hope that when others think about me they are confident that if they need help of any sort that I’m there. I also want others to know that I’m trust worthy and reliable. Conclusion I found that the ethical lense is a very effective way to annalyse yourself. It is an no biased way to evaluate who you are, what strengths you have and how to improve everyday to become a more better person. If you’ve read what I wrote above, you will find out exactly what type of person I am in a nutshell. If an adult is not responsible that puts...

...had immense difficulty spelling. Although, my reading retention was very good, which made me somewhat of a mystery for the teachers. As I progressed, I mastered spelling— for the most part. My spelling got exceptionally good when I was given a computer because then, whatever word I had in my head, the computer knew how to spell it; we became the best of friends. In early high school, I was confident in my writing, but I knew I had not mastered it: My main struggle with writing was sentence fragments. Essentially, the content was there but the grammatical structure wasn’t. Despite these struggles, I made it into the Advanced English class sophomore year, Advanced Placement Language junior year, and Advanced Placement Literature my senior year. Going into senior year, I had made impressive grades and had a few of my pieces published in school newspapers. Needless to say, I was feeling confident as ever. Unfortunately, I wrote my first literary analysis paper and I got a C. I was shocked at first, mostly because I had never gotten a C on anything in my entire life—except almost in phys ed one time, which my mother never lets me forget. Anyways, at that point I was, to say the least, pissed. The next class, I met with Mr....

...feeling of being unwanted are the greatest poverty.”- Mother Teresa.
