On November 8th I embarked on my nutrition analysis using Supertracker and, originally, an excel sheet that I started logging my food intake on; however, it only had two spots designated for calories and fats, so I asked around and discovered MyFitnessPal. I ended up choosing Supertracker and MyFitnessPal as my mediums for this assignment, and overall was impressed by how easy they were to navigate.
To begin, both sites offered great information on food intake, but the biggest difference between the two was that MyFitnessPal actually registered every food I entered; whereas with Supertracker I had to use a food similar to the one I was eating, but not quite the same food I had actually ingested. MyFitnessPal had the foods, brands, and the labels set up to where I just had to specify how much of it I ate. Overall, I would say that MyFitnessPal was the most accurate source of the two and had more information, but both sites did a good job of making their page easy to understand. I also enjoyed the graphs that Supertracker supplied once I recorded the foods that were consumed; furthermore, the graphs made it more appealing for my visual…show more content… When choosing which method I enjoyed the most, I have to choose MyFitnessPal because it offered a variety of food selections, and it contained more useful and accurate information. However, both sites were easy to understand and use. My nutrition content was of no surprise because I have always had an unhealthy diet, but I was a little shocked that my caloric intake was not higher because I am an avid soda pop drinker. Also, another reason this assignment shocked me was I expected to be irritated with having to document my food intake, but I ended up finding it relaxing and productive. Overall, I enjoyed this assignment, and it’s nice to know how easy it is to keep track of
