The unit chief position comes with a lot of responsibility and you have to be focus, and I have to set goals for my employees. As a supervisor, it is very important to keep track of performance to allow employees to see how effective they have been in attaining the goals. I believe without proper feedback channels it is impossible to adapt or adjust to the require behavior. I have to ensure that motivate my employees because the more employees are motivated, the more they are stimulated and interested in accepting goals. [1] “The enhancement of performance through goals requires feedback. Goal setting and feedback go hand in hand. Without feedback, goal setting is unlikely to work. Providing feedback on short-term objectives helps to sustain motivation and commitment to a goal. Besides, feedback should be provided on the strategies followed to achieve the goals and the outcome is achieved as well. Feedback on strategies to obtain goal is very important, especially for complex work, because challenging goals put focus on outcomes rather than on performance strategies, so they impair performance. Proper feedback is also very essential, and the following hints may help for providing a good feedback: 1. Create a positive context for feedback. 2. Use constructive and positive language.3. Focus on behaviors and strategies.4. Tailor feedback to the needs of the individual worker.5. Make feedback a two-way communication process.”
These are the steps that I would use to manage the stress associated with my new position. The first step is starting my day with reflection and spiritual. Every morning when I wake up, I pray which helps me to relive my stress for work or my personnel life.

Identify the things that put me under stress would be my fifth step, If I understand why I became so stressed it can help me to avoid the stressful circumstances. The sixth step would be taking responsibility for my own actions, it can be less stressful for me to make decisions and take action then to feel powerless and react to other’s decisions. After analyzing my own reaction to stressful situations, I would use these steps to help me manage stress associated with my new position. How would I address nonverbal and cultural barriers in program manager position, I really don’t think I will have to deal with any nonverbal communication barriers because the Federal Bureau of Investigation is a federal agency and FBI sets very high standers before they hire someone. The Federal Bureau of Investigation hiring process is very intensive each candidate a lot of exams and other evaluations before they are hired. Effective communication with people of different cultures is especially challenging. Cultures provide people with ways of thinking ways of seeing, hearing, and interpreting the world. Thus the same words can mean different things to people from different cultures, even when they talk the same language. When the languages are different, and translation has to be used to communicate, the potential for misunderstandings increases. Learning how to confront cultural barriers to communication is important in the workplace as well as personal life. Diversity is commonplace, and it can cause barriers to communication, but confronting these cultural barriers can have a positive impact on your life. This article will discuss how to confront cultural barriers to communication. The best way to confront barriers in an awkward intercultural experience is to talk, ask questions, and listen. By asking questions and patiently listening you are actively engaging and showing respect for cultural differences. In order to confront barriers in communication you must talk, ask questions, and listen. It is also important to think before you speak and act. If there is an awkward situation you do not want to make it more awkward by doing or saying something out of bounds. If you are unaware of another's cultural differences it is easy to mistakenly offend someone. Remaining silent gives you time to think; it also prevents miscommunication. If you think about the way you say things, the things you say will be more effective in confronting cultural barriers to communication.
