Introduction
Communication is important for leadership of institutions, organizations, companies, schools, and any other group. Effective communication means the leader understand how to plan, organize, lead and control (Gandossy & Sonnenfeld, 2005). Communication assists leaders and manager to complete their responsibilities and tasks. Therefore, communication functions as the basis for all planning in the organization. Therefore, one can state that communication is composed of a speaker and a listener. For example, information is communicated from the organizational leadership. This information is communicated to the managers of the organization. Afterwards, the information is communicated to …show more content…

The Culture and Diversity Theories of Communication The category of communication culture and diversity theories of communication believes we belong to a community. West, & Turner (2009) highlight how an individual?s culture and community influence one?s behavior and communication. The theories that belong to this category of communication theories are Face-Negotiation Theory, Communication Accommodation Theory, Muted Group Theory, and Standpoint Theory. These theories show the role of society on communication (West, & Turner, 2009). The theories in this category of communication theories are described in more detail in Table 6.0.

Their argument rested on a careful and considered analysis not only of empirical evidence about the ineffectiveness of rehabilitative treatment but also of theoretical, moral and philosophical questions about such interventions. By 1994, emerging evidence about the potential effectiveness of some intervention programmes was sufficient to lead Peter Raynor and Maurice Vanstone to suggest significant revisions to the ‘non-treatment paradigm’.
