...How did Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart change music? That is what this research paper will be about. To me, Mozart’s music is at level of perfection that is unreached by any other composer. Unlike most composers where a composer would only excel in one aspect of music, Mozart excelled in all aspects of music. Mozart had melodic grace like Handel, harmonic complexity like Bach and intellectual developmental techniques as well as emotional content like Beethoven. Mozart also reigned supreme in all styles of music including: fugue, sonata, symphony, concerto, opera, choral music, cannon and cetera. Mozart could do anything. However from what I have learned, there is something deeper inside his music moving as a fundamental undertone throughout his music and ability. As I analyzed the works of the other great composers of this time like Bach, Beethoven and Handel, I noticed how these composers methodically and systematically wrote their music. For example, the sharp melodies and odd intervals in a Bach fugue suggest that his melodies are harmonically born. Bach wrote his music with a harmonic mindset and writes his melodies so that they fit his harmonies. In the opposite way, Handel wrote his music in a way that his harmonies are derived from his melodies. Beethoven had a very logical approach to his music. Starts off with a short theme and that forms the basis of the rest of the movement. So in saying all this, what I mean is their music was manageable. However, with Mozart...

...Life For this research paper, I have decided to write about Joe Williams, a famous American jazz singer in the late 1930s. Joe Williams was born in Cordele, Georgia on December 12, 1918. During the 1920s he lived in Chicago with his grandmother and mother, and was influenced by the many African-American musicians such as Duke Ellington, Ethel Waters and Louis Armstrong. His mother took him to see Louis Armstrong play the trumpet at the Vendome Theater when he was a young boy. His mother Anne, taught him how to play the piano and supported him through his musical interest. When Joe became a teenager he started to perform at social events and formed his own vocal quartet called “The Jubilee Boys.” This really helped him jump start his...

...Mastering Research Papers Submitted by WWW.ASSIGNMENTPOINT.COM Research papers of any size are the bane of many students’ academic existence. They can be daunting, demanding, and stress-inducing. However, they are an important and essential element of higher learning. They both teach and test students’ ability to research, evaluate sources, think critically, organize their thoughts, and express them persuasively. And, approached the right way, they can be an extraordinarily enriching and rewarding exercise. Following are some strategies for writing better research papers, and for making the experience a more satisfying—and less agonizing—one. I will focus less on the mechanics (APA style, etc.) of writing a research paper, and more on what it takes mentally and emotionally to not only survive, but actually thrive, in the process of completing so demanding an assignment. (And let’s face it: you will have many across your academic career.) I rely here on not only what I have gleaned from over 35 years of grading university-level research papers, but also from my own ongoing research and writing. So, what works? Here are seven keys to mastering research papers: 1. There’s No Wasted Motion As I reflect back over my research career, beginning with my master’s thesis and doctoral dissertation, I am aware of having read many more books, articles, and other resources than I eventually ended up using in my final research manuscripts...

...Parenting in Today’s China: Concerns, Anxiety, and Commitment* Dr. Gan Wang, Associate Senior Research, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Beijing Since the late 1990s, there has been a proliferation of parenting discussion forums (BBS) on the Internet in China. On the BBS, many young parents with higher education keep records of their children’s development, socialize with other parents, first in the virtual space, then in real space., communicate knowledge of childrearing and ECE, and discuss and debate over many issues in early childhood. In an earlier paper of mine, I claim that the Internet provides a new kind of social space in which the young mothers assert their new identity. Today, I’ll concentrate on one special debate issue. Examining the debate, I propose that to better understand challenges and concerns facing Chinese parents, a cultural historical approach should be adopted. Viewing parenting BBS, you often see great concerns and anxieties over the issue whether young children should “learn things”. To study or not to study, that is the question. There are some stories on the internet by ambitious parents who teach their children to recite dozens of Chinese classic poems at the age of 2, to recognize over a thousand Chinese characters and start to read at the age of 3, and play piano at the age of 4. Some of these parents keep record of their children’s progress in these studies and post on the Internet. Other parents might ask them in details and learn...

...music has a long rich tradition with great contributors such as Thomas Dorsey, Mahalia Jackson, Whitney Houston, and Kirk Franklin. Things such as gospel music workshops and conventions exist today to educate individuals on this peculiar style of music. Recently, I held a gospel music workshop and many things were involved in putting it together. The following paper will discuss my research on the evolution of gospel music and elaborate more on why I decided to do a gospel music workshop. African American gospel music has been implemented with secular and non-African American elements. This has caused many individuals to wonder “what is gospel music?” This musical phenomenon has moved beyond the walls of the “black church” and includes many aspects (Wise 1). Gospel music can be defined from a cultural, spiritual, or musical perspective. There are underlying theological and spiritual principles Gospel music was a sacred folk music that originated out of slave songs, field hollers, Baptist lining hymns, and Negro spirituals and standard Protest hymns and many composed songs. The Center for Black Music Research in Chicago, IL classifies gospel music as African-American Protestant vocal music that...
