Hospitality industry is a huge sector of global market in this era. Hospitality industry makes our life more comfortable, more enjoyable, and more flexible. It is also a great helper of world economy.

Importance of hospitality management in global market:

There are many importance of hospitality management in global market. I write down below in my own opinion.

Unemployment (or joblessness) occurs when people are without work and actively seeking work. The unemployment rate is a measure of the prevalence of unemployment and it is calculated as a percentage by dividing the number of unemployed individuals by all individuals currently in the labor force. During periods of recession, an economy usually experiences a relatively high unemployment rate. According to International Labor Organization report, more than 197 million people globally are out of work or 6% of the world's workforces were without a job in 2012. Here Hospitality management helps to solve those problems. Hospitality management is a huge sector for remove unemployment. It’s like a magic. Everyone can work there they can be educational or uneducated. In hospitality management there have a lot of post for do a comfortable job. Like general manager, Assistant GM or Director of Operations, Front Desk Manager, Front Desk Supervisor, Rooms Coordinator, Guest Services Manager, Concierge Supervisor, Bell Captain, Valet Captain, Housekeeping Manager, Floor Supervisor, Laundry Supervisor, Public Area/Custodial Supervisor, Senior Sales Manager, Senior Marketing Manager, Marketing Manager, Public Relations Manager, Revenue Manager, Reservations Supervisor, Restaurant Supervisor, Executive Chef, Room Service Manager, Room Service Captain, Bar Manager, Convention Services Manager, Event Manager, Catering Manager, Banquets Captain, Finance Manager, Engineering Manager, Human Resources Manager, Recruiting Manager, Shift Supervisor, Information Technology Manager, Waiter-Cleaner and some. This is one sector and there have another sector in hotel that is Food sector. In this way many man can work in hotel. All kind of people can work in a hotel. This is a big opportunity for remove unemployment and help global market.

The current financial crisis that began in 2007 has created the greatest financial disorders since the Great Depression of the 1930s. As with most industries, the hospitality and tourism sector is experiencing numerous challenges as a result of the global economic crisis. The industry is feeling the impact of a shrinking capital market and decreased spending by both corporate and individual consumers .Businesses have reported a downturn in sales of lodging, foodservice, events another hospitality products and some have closed their doors forever. The decline resulted not only from fewer customers in hotels, restaurants, conference and convention Centers, etc., but also from a significant decline in the average expenditure per guest. The recession caused serious problems for luxury hotels in particular. However, many hotels in certain global markets, especially those catering to leisure travellers, were less affected. And the popularity and growth of the luxury hotel segment in recent years suggests that a strong rebound may not be unrealistic.
The international tourist arrivals are projected to increase in 2011 by 4% to 5%.In the DLA PIPER EU hospitality outlook survey (March 2011) the majority of respondents expect the hospitality industry to show a sustained recovery in 2012 and are turn to pre-financial crisis levels in terms of room rates, largely due to a predicted growth in business travel. “Being Green” and having green accreditation is seen as important for increasing brand value by 57% of respondents and the use of energy-efficient materials is widely adopted and driven by individual green policies and rising energy costs. The EU hospitality and leisure sector is increasingly using social media as a promotional tool to enhance sales, marketing and public relations, although it is still behind the U.S. The World Economic Forum published its Travel & Tourism Competitiveness Report 2011 under the theme
“Beyond the Downturn,”
Representing a growth of 5 to 6 % over 2009; they are expected to return to the long-term average of 4 % in 2011. The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) estimates that, from direct and indirect activities combined, the T&T sector now accounts for 9,2 % of global GDP, 4,8 % of world exports and 9,2 % of world investment, returning to the position it held before the crisis.

Tourism and Hospitality Studies (THS) is an elective subject of PSHE. This subject focuses on tourism and hospitality education with the primary aim of broadening students’ knowledge of the overall industry of tourism and hospitality, including its issues and developments. This subject helps students to understand tourism and hospitality by providing them with the basic concepts, knowledge and theories of the industry as well as related practical experiences. It does not take on a sector-specific training approach, nor does it aim at equipping students with clearly defined practical skills, such as airline ticketing, tour guiding, catering or housekeeping. The study of tourism and hospitality also provides opportunities for students to develop their general intellectual capacities for life-long learning. For example, it promotes communication skills, interpersonal skills, information processing skills, problem solving skills and decision-making skills, etc. This capitalizing on the opportunities arising from a dynamic tourism and hospitality industry in Hong Kong, will help students recognize the importance of being a self-motivated problem-solver and life-long learner. For hotel management many countries got many university or college. In this way they give opportunity to the student a better education under hotel management and earn more money.

Hotel management provides all tourists a better and safety life. The management all time took care of their customer. The authority management never wants to provide a bad service. These are the important of a hotel management that is more important in global market.
