...There is an issue in society that continues to be a concern and needs to be seriously addressed. The problem is that global warming is increasing at a significant rate. According to NASA’s article entitled “Global Warming”, global warming is the unusual “...rapid increase in Earth’s average surface temperature,” (2014, para. 1). Our planet, Earth, has had its temperature changed a significant amount of times throughout history. These changes were due to receiving more or less sunlight from the shifts in the Earth’s orbit. However, scientists have found that over the past century another source has influenced the change of Earth’s temperature: mankind. Scientists from NASA’s Earth Observatory suggests that these significant changes are primarily due to the release of greenhouse gases as people burn fossil fuels, given the fact that the rate of temperature increase nearly doubled in the last 50 years (GlobalWarming, 2014, para. 3). Greenhouse gases allow sunlight to shine into the atmosphere freely. When the sunlight strikes the Earth’s surface, some of it reflects back to space as heat. The greenhouse gases absorbs this heat and traps it in the atmosphere keeping the Earth at a suitable temperature for humans to live in. There are various amounts of greenhouse gases but carbon dioxide, oxygen, methane and nitrous oxide seem to be more dominant (Hunt, 2011, online). However, when too much of the gas is released then too much of the heat gets trapped within the atmosphere. This...

...Executive summary Suzlon, the Indian-owned Wind Energy company, has made its mark in the Indian and Global Wind Energy markets since its inception in 1995. By 2011, the company was the Asian market leader, having completed projects across 32 countries around the globe. Tulsi Tanti, originally a textile manufacturer founded Suzlon in 1995 to meet the energy demands of his family business textile operations. In those days, India was marred by expensive and unpredictable power grids which lead to rising power costs and frequent electricity outages. In 1994, the Government of India announced incentives for those investing in Wind power. As a part of the scheme the Ministry of non-conventional Energy resources offered capital subsidies and waivers from excise, income and import taxes for renewable energy projects. Tanti saw a promising opportunity and raised $0.6 million for his new wind energy venture. He began by securing selling rights from “SudWind”, the German turbine manufacturer, in India for their turbines. However, in an unexpected turn of events the German company went bankrupt. Determined not to lose this opportunity, Mr Tanti purchased the Worldwide rights to sell SudWind turbines – hiring the manufacturer’s R&D centre in Germany. Their first project was a ten turbines wind farm for India Power Corporation Limited(IPCL), a petrochemicals company. Suzlon’s successful completion of the project in a record three months helped it build its name. Soon, other projects...

...BC607 From: Millicent Fowler To: Dr. Miro The country of Ghana a region in West Africa is my country of choice, Electricity generation and usage in Ghana. Business Report The country generates electric power from hydropower, fossil-fuel, thermal energy and renewable energy sources. Electricity generation is one of the key factors to propel it to achieve the developmental goal of the national economy, with aggressive and rapid industrialization, which has increased the consumption from 265kilowatt-hours per capita in 2009 to 297.8 kilowatt-hours per capita, causing frequent power outage and rationing. It has become necessary for the privatization of the sector. Ghana exported some of its generated energy and fossil fuel to other countries in the region, Transmission is under the operation of Ghana Grid Company, Distribution under Northern electricity Distribution Company and electricity Company of Ghana. For the country to meet its economic growth, it is working on projects aimed at diversifying its energy generation and supply as the government is no longer able to handle it. I therefore propose that Consolidated Edison Company (ConEdison) come into a joint venture business agreement with Ghana, where generation and supply will be manage by ConEdison. During the past two decades, Ghana has emerged as a paragon of stability and good governance, held up as a shining example for the rest of Africa to follow. Its...

Once the rocket attacks occurred, the US Ambassador, Graham Martin, made a live appearance on Saigon television where he pledged, “I, the American Ambassador, am not going to run away in the middle of the night. Any of you can come to my house and see for yourselves that I have not packed my bags. I give you my word”(History Learning Site). The U.S. ambassador was not ready to stop fighting and wasn't going to run away like the President and Commander of Vietnam. On April 29 1975, The South Vietnamese knew that they wouldn't be able to hold their ground against the North because the South was extremely weak, so they started evacuations. These evacuations were followed through in Operation Frequent Wind, which was the largest helicopter evacuation in history. Marines and Air Force helicopters, flying from offshore carriers, performed a massive airlift. Within 18 hours, more than 1,000 American civilians and nearly 7,000 South Vietnamese refugees were air carried out of Saigon.(Fall of Saigon). The South Vietnamese pilots also were permitted to participate in the evacuation, and they were allowed to land on U.S. carriers. More than 100 American supplied helicopters that were on the air carriers, which cost more than 250,000 dollars each, were then pushed off carrier decks to make room for more evacuees and refugees.(Fall of Saigon). At 4:03 a.m., April 30th, 1975, two U.S. Marines were killed in a rocket attack at Saigon's Tan Son...

...that Haveloche Corporation has been publicly traded. BACKGROUND Haveloche Corporation was formed in 1989 as a research firm dedicated to innovative electronic design. Haveloche sells patents to large electronics manufacturing companies. For innovative inventions that are immediately useful to these electronics firms, Haveloche receives handsome gains. Many of the inventions and patents also wind up sitting on a shelf, even after Haveloche goes to the effort and expense of gaining the patent. Inventions that hit the jackpot make up for the losers over time, but the successes are sporadic and create large fluctuations in Haveloche's earnings. The firm grew up very quickly until its initial public offering in June of 1994 due to several key patents that were snatched up by several large computer manufacturers. By 1994, there were 28 researchers in the Haveloche think-tank, and the firm had developed the reputation for cutting edge research with a market orientation. Haveloche was also one of the larger pure research firms, and appeared to have become large enough to ensure more frequent innovations and earnings that were not as volatile as smaller firms. Since the IPO, Haveloche's research capability grew until a high of 102 researchers was reached. In early 2001, Haveloche had reduce workloads and eventually had to reduce the number of researchers due to the economic downturn. Since early 2003, though, the firm seemed to be enjoying the high demand again, and...
