P2 - Influence on organisation by Stakeholders Stakeholders | John Lewis | Cystic Fibrosis Trust | Employees | Employees play an integral part and have a massive influence over John Lewis as both as an organisation in the public eye and as a business trying to gain profit. This is because if without employees you don’t have a company. So, John Lewis has to try its utmost hardest to keep all parties within their corporation happy. That means fair salary, holiday days, terms of sick pay etc. And without customers, there will be no one at the tills, no one to stack shelves, no one in the bakery or deli sections and no one running the floor they work on. | Employees play a big role in the forward-movement of the CFT as they are the ones that are, actually in person, to provide the service given by the trust. Whether this is through care, activities etc. it is a major reason to keep staff happy so they can carry on producing a great service for the people suffering. | Customers | Customers are one of the most fluctuating factors for John Lewis as if the buyer doesn’t think the price is right they are going to go elsewhere, which puts John Lewis at a disadvantage and possible loss. | The trust doesn’t have that many customers, unless it is people buying their products such as t-shirts, wristbands and headbands. But customers aren’t as influential to the CFT as a substantial amount of their income is received from donations and government funding. | Investors/Donors | Investors are crucial to John Lewis as that is where a lot of additional funds come from and what they use to drive themselves forward as a company. | Donors are the funding factor that really thrusts the CFT up to the heights of the voluntary sector as they receive many donations each month and every year (over 9 million pounds received in donations last year). | Suppliers | Suppliers are highly influential to John Lewis as without suppliers JL wouldn’t receive tons of its stock which would bring them to a halt with sales which makes them heavily relied on. | The Cystic Fibrosis Trust doesn’t really rely on suppliers as it doesn’t gain the majority of its income from merchandise sales, but they still factor in as the merchandise sold by the CFT acts as almost an additional income for them so they do still have a role. | Government | John Lewis currently receives no government funding. | The CFT do rely on some funding from the government (roughly £200,000 as of last year) but, nowhere near as much as they do, rely on donations. |

...Introduction Marketing- is the action or business of promoting and selling products or services, including market research and advertising. A more simple definition is the right product, in the right place, at the right time, at the right price. It involves a business trying to understand its customers by identifying their needs and produce the products which satisfy those needs. The concept of marketing is that firms should analyse the needs of their customer and then make decisions to satisfy those needs, better than the competition. Nowadays most firms have adopted this marketing concept but it’s not always the case. The philosophy of this concept came around after World War II, when people had to be selective with the products they brought and only buy the ones that meet their needs and requirements but to businesses these would not always be obvious. Now companies have to always keep customers in mind when thinking of a product and the market is so competitive you will need to be the best product out there in that market to have the most chance of being brought. Three simple questions are often used when businesses decided to come up with a new product; what do customers want? Can we develop it while they still want it? How can we keep our customers satisfied? All being very good and valid questions to ask which will help to increase customer satisfaction as they are always in their minds. The two businesses I have chosen to use in order to compare and contrast their marketing...

Learners will use their knowledge of relevant human resources management theory and link it with current human resource management practices in organisations. Unit introduction Human resource management is a dynamic activity in any organisation as it takes place against a changing economic, technical, legal and social background. As labour is both an expensive and valuable resource, it is important to ensure it is planned and that the best value is obtained from employees contributions. Human resource managers have to plan their human resource requirements against a background of internal and external factors which are dynamic and constantly changing.
