...Throughout life, change is inevitable. Even when change is desired, it can be difficult to follow through. Creating a force field analysis (ffa) can assist someone who is trying to change something in their lives, whether is be personal or business related. In this paper, I will describe the concept of force field analysis as well as create an ffa for an issue in my life that I would like to change. I will also describe how the restraining forces impede my progress and develop an intervention strategy to enhance the driving forces to make change possible. Force field analysis is a very useful tool that was created by social psychologist Kurt Lewin in the 1940’s. In any situation, there are both driving and restraining situation. Lewin wrote that "An issue is held in balance by the interaction of two opposing sets of forces - those seeking to promote change (driving forces) and those attempting to maintain the status quo (restraining forces)". It helps when implementing change by dissecting both of these forces. Driving forces are the forces that drive the change. These forces are what initiates the change in the first place, and is likely to keep the plan going the will result in the change. These changes could be pressure from outside sources, or financial incentives. They are what to keep in mind when restraining forces arise during the change process. Restraining forces are forces that restrain the driving forces. These forces can include conflict, hostility, and resistance...

...The area of personal change I sought out was negativity. The reason for this change was to better myself, and to be a more positive person. For a tremendously long time I have been feeling very annoyed and irritated with the world. Not realizing how terrible I felt all the time and the habits that I had accumulated were preventing the change from happening. Once I finally realized there is more to my life than negativity is when I realized this feeling of bitterness needed to change. So I decided to find ways that would make me become a happier individual. First, I started noticing who I was surrounding myself with everyday. Then I removed the negative people in my life that I felt were bringing me down. This was much harder for me than I anticipated....

...Personal Perspective On Changes in Adulthood Lisa North BSHS/342 September 3, 2012 Stephanie Haywood Personal Perspective on Changes in Adulthood The Early Years My perspectives on lifestyle changes in all phases of adulthood have changed drastically over the years. Different choices, influences, and situations play a part in adult’s choices that they make throughout their early, middle, and late adulthood years. Some of the issues that play a part in the lifestyle changes for adults are married, divorced or single, kids or childless, addictions, jobs, siblings, and childhood experiences. All of the issues help to explain many of the lifestyle changes that adults make over the years. Early adulthood is the years from 20-40 years of age. They can bring many changes in a person’s life. Some may choose to get married, have children, and go to either work or college or attempt to do while others may choose a different route. At this stage of their lives he or she is still attempting to find themselves and to adjust to the “real world.” This is also the time when they move out of their parent’s house and into their own or share a place with their friends. By the age of 40 they should be settled down and have grown up and have become responsible members of society. At this stage relationships between friends and romantic relationships may begin to change also. Friendships from childhood and adolescence could become less important and he or she may begin to pull...

...does it need to change to current standards but continuously change with newer technology. Some reason to support my opinion is because there is a technological explosion, military personals are changing, there is and will continue to have fiscal constrains, and technologies in the environment is changing. Now and in the future technology has and will change a great deal. With these changes in equipment, the military personals will need to be educated on the use of them. Also with satellite information is coming in with such high rate, people will need to be trained on how to quickly determine and locate any critical information when dealing with a life-or- death situation. Not only is the technology changing but also the people. People now are growing up with all kinds of technology and a higher education, which means that the numbers of military members are dropping. Since, the amount of individuals available for certain jobs will go down, all persons that do join will need to have a greater range of education to cover more fields. Due to the fact that member rates will drop, it will most probably lead to some sort of fiscal constraint. If finance for the military drops, they will have to cut down on certain equipment, infrastructures, and travel of the personal. With this change, the ones that will still be allowed to travel will need an even broader spectrum of educations to be able to solve more issue on their own. Along with technology, personal, and financial...

...their skin. I chose this topic because I know it can be related two specific ways. It can be related through the facts of the chip containing all of our personal information, which relates back to information technology. Also, information technology is a wide spread career that focuses back on projects such as this. The three points I plan to shine light on is a view of future comings with information technology, how the chip has a relation to this, and how it can be pertained to everyday living. First off, the economy is rapidly changing day by day. Something new is steadily being updated, created, or changed rather the world knows about it or not. A future coming with information technology is being brought to the light and rather we are ready for the change or not it is bound to happen. This website online actually expanded how information technology has and will steadily will grow. A few valid points I agreed with from the article is “while it might seem that the technology of today has reached its limits, it is still actually spreading its proverbial wings.”(http://www.centertech.org/). This quote has more than enough meaning for it to so small. This quote basically focuses on how technology is being overrun but there is really nothing we can do about it because the future is based on these short comings. When these changes happen their going to happen without a billboard, banner or announcements so just be ready for them. Secondly, the RFID chip is a chip that The Affordable...

...Assisting people, detecting problems, and evaluating solutions to issues, are things that interest me. Perceiving delinquency, families being ruined, and destroyed, have made me realize people live difficult lives. Beholding parents taking children just because they want custody of their child, seeing teens make the wrong decisions and experiencing a challenging outcome as a result of those decisions, finally seeing children and teens abused in their homes. If we want the world to change, then people should take initiative and try to change it. Unlike some, I will try to make a change in the world by opening a family and juvenile law firm that will help troubled teens and families experiencing difficult times. At Wilson’s family law firm,...

...respect. Being a parent to billions of ungrateful kids needed to come to an end sooner rather than later. Humanity was causing immense damage to the planet and not making any significant moves to change their behaviors. The continued behavioral path of over consumption and wastefulness would have been the human races demise. After the violent meteor showers and tsunamis which happened in Australia and then in the Pacific Ocean and all bordering countries, people everywhere agreed that serious change needed to happen now. Man’s harmful substances had in fact attributed to depletions of the protective ozone layer that could have prevented harmful objects from entering it. It seemed that only fear could bring people of different backgrounds and cultures to work together. The biggest issue in creating a change was that it needed to include everyone. This was only possible with a shared connection. Unfortunately, the connection was made at the hands of tragedy. The world had then come to a silent agreement that the constant push of personal consumption had taken its toll. Gradually over time the need to purchase new items at a constant rate had lessened. People were relearning to enjoy one of the world’s most fascinating things, other people. As the need for technology in personal use was decreased, the way business was done also changed. Eco-efficiency had proven to be much shorter of a fix than anticipated. Business leaders now strongly desire eco-efficiency to smoothly integrate...

...Change is inevitable in life. Everything around us is changing with the passage of time. Each individual get a change to bring a change in his life. Some welcome it with a smile as a challenge while other refute it and stick to their stereo type routines. The people who are in favor of bringing changes in their life argue that change is very important to break the monotony of life. They further argue that an order to swiftly excel in your career and financial status, change is inevitable. All the advancements in technology have been achieved through bringing a change. From the marketing point of view, in order to boost the sale of a product, the best way is to bring the changes in the shape and specifications. So change, such as in your company or professional status, brings the diversity, flexibility and financial growth in the life on an individual. On the contrary, those who are not in favour of changing their lives, feel satisfied in their current circumstances. They feel that in order to grow in their own profession and to gain a high position in their career, it is important to be consistent with their current job. They argue that to build a strong relationship one may need patience rather than giving up easily and moving on. So as per them, life is the name of stability and persistence and as a result they opt for that. In my personal opinion change is the law of nature. The group of people who deny change are afraid of the after effects and not ready to except...

...Google Case Peter Senge’s five disciplines are: shared vision, mental models, personal mastery, team learning and systems thinking. As a Google employee, I would use these disciplines to understand the entry into the Chinese market. Google released a public letter stating, “…We aspire to make Google an institution that makes the world a better place” (Argenti, Page 19). Peter Senge’s first discipline, Shared Vision can be used to understand the changing environment at Google during the timeframe of the article. The majority of Google employees are doers, not decision makers, so they have to go along with any changes in the company’s direction or move to another company. The executives made the decision that it would be better to do business in China since the service would be better than anything currently available even if it was not as open as the US version. I’m not sure how many employees knew that “Do no evil” was followed by “Do nothing illegal” but the executives and corporate attorneys understood this and made the decision. At this point it is up to employees to determine for themselves if this supports their values and beliefs or if it’s time for them to look elsewhere for work. Team Learning and Systems Thinking can be used to assess the major events influencing the changes. Teams can be formed at and below the executive level to analyze internal and external events and predict what effects these will have on the corporate culture, business model and profits...

...Change is both a vital and inevitable part of our lives, and has a powerful effect on people, their perspectives, and the world around them. Through their experiences, many characters in texts such as Harper Lee’s novel, To Kill A Mockingbird, and the film, The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas, directed by Mark Herman, undergo various changes and transformations, not only physically, emotionally and intellectually, but also in their understanding and perspectives of the world around them. Studying texts such as these provides the audience with valuable insight into the aspects of changing worlds, perspectives, relationships and selves, which they are then able to relate to their own lives. Characters in both To Kill A Mockingbird and The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas (hereafter referred to as Mockingbird and Pyjamas respectively) change their attitude to society’s notions of the superiority of certain races and religions over others, creating a valuable moral imperative through the historical nature of the texts. Harper Lee’s Mockingbird is set in the small American town of Maycomb amidst the 1930s civil rights movement, and is centred on Scout’s moral struggle when questioning the racism and discrimination present. At the start of the novel, Scout blindly follows the discriminatory beliefs of society, although as she experiences more of the world for herself, she begins to question the hypocrisy of society, “How can you hate Hitler so bad an’ then turn around and be ugly about folks...

I was afraid at first to come back to school because I am in my twenties and not used to the studying. At first coming back to school was very hard for me because I hadn’t been in school since high school. I thought it would be hard to balance my everyday life out with having a child and work and then adding school into the mix. The book informs the reader to anticipate change, adapt and enjoy change. It underlines the fact that we should always anticipate change. There is no doubt that change is a constant in our lives, however, very few individuals take their time to anticipate it , or even plan on how to overcome the tribulations or opportunities that change might bring their way. Throughout the book, I also learn that the most important ingredient in dealing with changes is attitude. A lot of individuals fail to achieve their goals because they don't embrace change and think of it as opportunity instead of a burden. Indeed, when you think that change will be difficult then that is what it will be for you. On the other hand, when you act and think positively, you will always have a positive experiences and results with the changes that you undertake. The changes we make in our lives are widely driven by our attitude. Adapting and flexibility is also very serious in a...
