I couldn’t believe we were finally there, Eaton’s Ranch. We got there on a Saturday somewhere around noon, just in time for a ride. We had to check in and that felt like an eternity because they were telling us all of this stuff about how we would get three meals a day, and how we had assigned tables at those meals, and that for dinner that night would be a outdoor buffet thing, did they not realize that there was a girl there that would go crazy if she wouldn’t get on a horse soon? Finally they finished blabbing and I had to change because it’s a little difficult to ride in shorts and a tank top, (tried it before, didn’t end well). After that we got saddles fitted for all three of us and finally I found out my horse’s name. Trix. My horse …show more content…
And then there was my papa’s horse, Bob. This was the first time my mom was going to actually see me ride a horse, she’s only seen me ride horses at carnivals, or fairs, or easter egg hunts. we got saddled up and we were off with our guide onto a route called Chocolate ridge. long story short about that ride, I would rather have a horse shoe thrown at my head. It was too much for our first day and way too hot. Back at the Ranch, we got our cabin and it was bigger than I expected, 4 beds, 1 bathroom, sitting area, and a good sized porch. We decided to just get situated and relax a bit before dinner. At around 5:30ish we went to the buffet dinner at the edge of the woods, right by a creek. After dinner I decided to play in the creek,( and by play I mean standing on the rocks hoping I don’t fall in). That was pretty much our first day there, 1 day down 2 to …show more content…
It was amazing, we saw a pronghorn and it was an amazing view over the hill. After the ride we got back had lunch and went swimming in the afternoon. After swimming in a really dirty pool we went back to the cabin and my papa told us that a deer jumped out in front of him when he was walking back to the cabin after breakfast.
After dinner that night my papa and I were sitting outside and we see these things flying in the sky, bats! It was awesome, the first time I had ever seen bats, it was also kinda scary because I thought the bats were going to swoop down on us and peck our eyes out.
The next morning all three of us took a ride to Indian’s Rock when we got to the rocks there was a pond down a hill but we decided not to go down there, our guide told us that somewhere on the rocks there is supposedly Indian writing but I never found it. That afternoon I took a ride with Bridget, Kendall and their mom to Indians Rock and it was the best time because we galloped so many times because we didn’t have a guide. We decided to go to the pond and rest there and let the horses take a drink but they didn’t want it. On our way back Bridget asks if we want to gallop, “yeah” we all say.

Quiet: Power of Introverts

...MORE ADVANCE NOISE FOR QUIET “An intriguing and potentially lifealtering examination of the human psyche that is sure to benefit both introverts and extroverts alike.” —Kirkus Reviews (starred review) “Gentle is powerful … Solitude is socially productive … These important counterintuitive ideas are among the many reasons to take Quiet to a quiet corner and absorb its brilliant, thought-provoking message.” —ROSABETH MOSS KANTER, professor at Harvard Business School, author of Confidence and SuperCorp “An informative, well-researched book on the power of quietness and the 3/929 virtues of having a rich inner life. It dispels the myth that you have to be extroverted to be happy and successful.” —JUDITH ORLOFF, M.D., author of Emotional Freedom “In this engaging and beautifully written book, Susan Cain makes a powerful case for the wisdom of introspection. She also warns us ably about the downside to our culture’s noisiness, including all that it risks drowning out. Above the din, Susan’s own voice remains a compelling presence—thoughtful, generous, calm, and eloquent. Quiet deserves a very large readership.” —CHRISTOPHER LANE, author of Shyness: How Normal Behavior Became a Sickness 4/929 “Susan Cain’s quest to understand introversion, a beautifully wrought journey from the lab bench to the motivational speaker’s hall, offers convincing evidence for valuing substance over style, steak over sizzle, and qualities that are, in America, often derided. This book is brilliant...
