It is estimated that on average, over 3,000 new patients are added to the kidney waiting list each month and thirteen people die each day while waiting for a life-saving kidney transplant. Scientists are currently searching for a solution to organ shortage, and one of the solutions they have suggested is called xenotransplantation.
