...Mr. Hong English A March 19, 2012 A Place You Know Well During my time as a child, I remember visiting so many places with my family throughout Southern California. One of the best memories was when I visited Lake Arrowhead. Located in the beautiful mountains of San Bernardino, Lake Arrowhead is a tiny city where every family would enjoy living in. Not only is Lake Arrowhead Village a great place to live but great place to enjoy nature’s beauty at any time of the day. I remember Lake Arrowhead for its beautiful scenery, it is family-oriented, and it has many outdoor activities. While visiting Lake Arrowhead in the winter time, I fell head over heels with the beautiful scenery that nature brought upon my eyes. As I arrived to the house in the evening, I looked up and I was able to see the stars that lit up the sky above me. As I walk down to the lake, I was able to hear the crickets’ chirping and the owls hooting as they hear the crackling of the snow that I’m stepping upon. As I look through the horizon of the snow, I saw the never ending slope falling towards the lake that apparently was frozen. As I sat on one of the unfrozen steps, I looked up once again, and I see the beautiful full moon sitting on a cloud. The stars shined even brighter when the moon glistened its light down to Earth. The lake looked really calm and I only saw a couple of ripples being caused by a female duck and her ducklings swimming in the middle of the lake. In the morning when I looked outside...

"Mike---th--they..." "They what Christie?" "Mike we need to go out of here fast... come on." "But at least tell me what happened?" Mike was stunned... he was literally being dragged out by Christie because his mind was too numb at the moment to perform any action. "Christie stop!" Mike finally shouted as they got out of the party hall into the parking lot. "Mike, you don't know what just happened... do you?" "Of course, I don't know and that's why I've been asking you for the last hour WHAT'S WRONG?" "Mike they died!" "Who died?" "Mike, the apartment caught on fire and they were all there, Bob, Walter, Jake, and Samantha... they were all there." "You're kidding me... right?" "No, am not... I just got a call from Samantha's neighbor, she broke the news to me. She said that the rescue team is there but... but..." "But what?" "I don' t know..." Christie broke into tears. "Christie, hey... look up! Nothing will happen to them okay... nothing! Just get in the car and let's go there okay, believe me, they all will be fine." A Day Before "Hey Christie, did you get that invitation for Kate's party?" Samantha asked Christie who was busy painting her nails. "Of course I did... do you seriously think...

...someone wise said ''start with the end in mind '' before this class I only know what the end was but not the process of push start. for me before class I see it like there was a taxi waiting outside of my house I know I want him to take me to the best places I just did not know how I am going to lead him there. So vivid management class was all about bringing people together and work together to get the job done I just did not know how to bring them to one place work together. Coming from low masculinity highly collectivist country where things are yet in the process of growing people are taught that they must look after one another, guide the young once, remain with old family values and at the end of the day regardless of how a horrible day that you had, saw a young boy get hit by a car or you just came from your daughter’s wedding and she is expecting a baby. You have to share your news with the people that cares about you and they make sure you get the best treatment regardless when you get to the house at all time because they yet not know if you had good or bad news for them always making sure the napkin or the knife is there to cut the cake. In my country Ethiopia there is one thing that takes huge part of peoples day to day life in every corner every town and every single house and for most people it is internet that made the people stay connected with each other instantly so easy you don't even have to meet the person to get what he is feeling but in the east...

...City, KS. This high school well taken care of, but built not so well for safety of the students or teachers. For instance, we have way to many entries, and windows. In other words, the school is two floors, plus a downstairs. SCHS amazes me looks very ancient on the outside, but the inside so beautiful. Since the school is very big and has plenty of open spaces, an intruder or active shooter can easily come in. We have doors where teachers and students are never at. For example, a student can go crazy, also they know every entrance in the school and where teachers are at all times. Besides they know when the passing periods of classes are as well. First of all, we have four rooms that lead to the halls, windows or absolutely nothing. The school has a little picnic area that...

...D D KINGSTON’s KINGSTON SOTELO I LIFE Let me ask you a question. In your own point of view, what is life? It’s a simple question yet, hard to explain. Well son I’ll tell you, life for me ain’t been no crystal stair. Is it familiar to you? Haha well it’s from a famous poem written by Langston Hughes. And it’s true. Life is not that easy, there are many challenges to meet. Well for me, life is… a word of course. Let me tell you a story. Hi! I’m Kingston and I’m going to tell you the story of me. Before we go to the end, we start from the beginning right? Okay? Okay. There was a little boy born in the city Vigan. He was the cutest and the most… haha lol just kidding. Okay here’s the real one. My life wasn’t that easy. I always got bullied in school and always be the last one to be chosen in all the activities. I think that my classmates hate me. It’s true but there’s this guy who can accept who am I, the name is Warren Jay Parada. He was my best friend since the last summer for maybe how long? Ohm… 7 months? Yeah well he was the happiest person I’ve met yet, he had the most incurable pain. Why? Well you’ll know this in the next chapter. So Let’s go back to the story… I always got bullied it’s true and the one started it was my so called “FRIEND”, Mr. Rei Christian Presto. ...If you are a woman who is looking to date other women, life is not so simple. First of all, it is quite difficult to come across other women who are interested in you the same way. Secondly, most places like a bar for lesbians usually has women who are just not your type. So how do you find a loving, caring partner who returns your love and tenderness? The answer is, free lesbian dating websites. There are numerous websites which encourage free lesbian dating. Willing women who seek the love of other women create an account, upload photographs and enjoy a platform where they have the chance of meeting someone special. In a lesbian pub you are sure to find sex, a meaningless one night stand which leaves you feeling alone again the next morning. For something more serious, for a companion who will spend some quality time with you, it is necessary that you first get to know the person well. This is often quite difficult to do in a bar, where everybody is dressed provocatively and the alcohol is flowing freely. Conversation takes a back seat while physical desire takes over the mind and body. For something...

In India they will have lesser chance to grow their business although there is a vast market for any company can’t resist to get in to it. But Burger King is Knows for the Non-Veg product and India’s most of the population consumes Veg products more. So in India there will be a large market but lesser chances to expand their business and getting successful they cannot get the success in India without changing their uniqueness. Nigeria is not a Large and vast market to get into as there are not more population and lesser ratio of youth people So, According to me Burger king should go ahead with this three big potential and large market to expand their business there. 2. ...I went, “Wait a minute! This is the guy who said, ‘this is not me, this is yesterday’s breakfast. And when this is gone doesn’t mean I am gone, it means that you need to find other ways to communicate with me.’” And I actually just got an email yesterday from a woman who said, “Oh! I’ve been dreaming about Bucky Fuller and I actually saw him in the mall the other day.” And I am like, “Whoa! This is pretty interesting she’s in Australia.” And I think that his influence is like everywhere. [0:02:27] What I decided was that I was going to do -- that he had conducted a 56 year experiment to determine and document what one individual could achieve that could not be accomplished by any religion, government, organization of any kind. So it’s basically what one man can do and he documented it and I said, “Well, when somebody does an experiment, you don’t just archive it away. You actually examine it.” So that’s what I’d spent the last 30 years doing literally. And doing what he told us to do, which is what all the great teachers say, they all say, don’t believe a word I say, don’t believe a word I wrote, right? Checked it out against your own personal experience, take what works and use it, what doesn’t -- I say actually like put it aside because when your perspective changes, as I have had happen for myself many times, then you might say, “Oh! That does actually work now for me.” [0:03:30]...

...step to actually make that change. I feel that you can send anyone to a class to learn how to emotionally intelligent, but it is the matter if they actually take what they learned back into their jobs. I feel that it does start with our supervisors who have to teach us the right way. In order for us to do our job correctly we need to be taught and molded the right way. So yes we can learn it, it is just the matter of taking it all in and really using it in ways that we work. I also think that everyone is emotionally intelligent in their own way and how we decide to use it or when is entirely up to us as adults. What are the personal characteristics that you believe would contribute to the success of leaders? I feel that in order to be a successful leader you have to want to be in that particular position. I think that in order to be a good leader you have to have listening skills, be fair, and know what you are doing. I have seen too many people in leadership positions that cannot handle the pressure or their own employees. I think that being a good listener is something that employees want so that if they have any problems they can express them and be heard. Being fair to all employees is something else that you have to do. You cannot show favoritism because you like one person better or be mean to someone that you do not like. It will not go over well if you are mistreating your employees. Lastly, you need to know what you are doing as far as your job goes. Too many people...

...they want to know they are getting fresh food, professional service. They want to come to a place they can relax and enjoy their meal and feel right at home. This is the main reason I have created the ideal place, the kind of place that will fit anyone’s life-style weather busy or relaxed. This is the place where things are done on the customer’s terms. They choose the kind of service they would like to have, how they want to pay and where they would like to sit. When you walk in, the atmosphere is always pleasant and friendly. This is the place where customers are not over crowded with tables and chairs. It has an open floor plan. This place is different than the rest, the name tells it all! “That One Place.” The menu is designed around simple phrases that everyone will remember and most likely use on a daily basis. This is the place where you can use words that are not professional words and not expected to speak proper grammar. These would be; whatever’s, I don’t cares, thing-a-majigs, what-cha-ma-call-its, dang it’s, I guess so’s, cookie things, strawberry stuff, one with the nuts, that’ll works, sure’s, doesn’t matters, I don’t knows, whatever he/she has, that one kind and many more. This is the place customers can say these words and do not have to worry about offending anyone. “That One Place” is four places in one, a coffee shop, bakery, bookstore, and a restaurant. No matter where you sit, you are still at “That One Place.” This is the place to come when you want to relax...

(Looks around) I wonder what kind of place of this? Traveller: Oh, this is certainly rare... are you travellers by any chance? I’m guessing you’re lost. S4: Well, not really, but... yeah we’re kind of lost. Traveller: Hmmm... Don’t get the wrong idea, but this is a place you wouldn’t want to be in. S2: *confused* Huh? What do you mean? Traveller: *clears throat* This is the land of the Cyclopes. They are rude, lawless giants who follow no god. They are their own laws; I heard they themselves don’t get along well with each other, how much more with you? S1: Haha... well at least they don’t eat men, right? S2: Definitely! *laughs* Traveller: *smiles* They do. ... Traveller: If I were you, I’d go and leave this place as soon as possible. ...If something is funny it breaks people in and it softens them up, People are more apt to chance their perception because you make them laugh and then they by nature become less judgmental, at least for that moment. That will be one of the themes with this EP- promoting non-judgment, On the part of everyone. I feel that here at cambridge for instance, there is too much judgement ingrained in the community regarding business and finance. There is judgment about social welfare. One is good one is bad. Most of our class is studying finance, and from who I have met so far, most of our class come from good families, have a sense of values, and have very VERY warm hearts and open minds. They are good people, They are creative thinkers, they are funny, they are multidimensional. They want to learn from you. They wanted to leave their country and meet people from other cultures. They want to KNOW about other cultures, they want to share their passions and interests and couple that with learning about yours. We are intellectually curious. We are open to discussion about virtually anything. We all respect each other. Everyone is so nice, so friendly so warm. I feel that I have already learned a LOT about who I am. I am EXTREMELY intellectually curious. I didn’t realize how much so until I got to Cambridge. Cambridge is an environment that prompts you to think and ask questions and re-evaluate everything, on a daily basis. I have read more books at this point on topics outside...
