This case is definitely more difficult to come to a consensus on. Sonia did follow the outline set by Diana Hacker by using quotation marks but then neglected to cite or paraphrase. In my opinion, this is a less severe case of plagiarism because she did not just flat out steal the quotation but it is plagiarism nonetheless as she did not offer a citation. When it comes to writing, especially when trying to avoid plagiarizing, one can never be too cautious and while the quote may be extremely well known and obviously from the bible, Sonia would find it in her best interest just to include a proper citation (better to be safe than sorry). While the act seems rather innocent the troubling part of the ordeal is Sonia’s attitude regarding her complacency;
