Printing Services
(Business Plan)

Product or Service:

We plan to offer printing services, convenient enough to students like us in terms of location, service hours, and service charges.

Market Analysis:

We will cater the needs of the student body of UPVIC. They may need their outputs printed as early as possible so our printing services will start around 7 in the morning and will close at around 5 in the afternoon. We can easily reach them and they as well can avail of our services since we plan to set up our stall in the student lounge. To cite some of our advantages, we are closest to the students’ everyday routine, a page of black text would only cost them a peso compared to the two peso rate in printing shops located outside the campus and these competitors do not open their shops until around 8 to 9 in the morning.

Strategy and Implementation

Each of the six (6) members will take turns of working in the stall and watching over the business. There will be at least three (3) members per shift. Shifts will be made if one of the on-duties will have a class. Our starting capital will be Php 500.00 for the ink and bond papers. The laptop will be provided by themembers and the printer by the members also.

Web Plan Summary:

Our marketing strategies would include posting advertisements on bulletin boards around the school and online and verbal dissemination of information

Management Team:

The team is composed of Econ 102 students of the University of the Philippines Visayas.

Irresistible Online Printing Services

...online printing services They say information is knowledge and knowledge is power. I never realized the meaning of this statement until I was stuck with online printing services. I had tried several online companies for printing services, and all of them were a letdown until I finally bumped into PrintPlace.com. Getting online printing services is tricky nowadays because not every company will satisfy your printing requirements. My experience with online printing companies is broad. I first sought for online printing services when I urgently required my company’s brochures printed. The first company that I approached promised to deliver quality products in time as per my request. However, when the time was due, I tried to reach the customer service of the company to no avail. After I finally reached her, she gave me all manners of excuses that their printers were broken and I did not pay enough for such urgent requests. Additionally, she said that I had to bear with them because they were facing issues that were beyond their control. After this episode, I approached another online printing company to print my business cards. Although this company observed time, its services were costly and of poor quality. It was at this point that I decided to consult my friends about the best printing company. Nine out of ten recommended the PrintPlace.com. PrintPlace. Com has given me the power to afford quality services at affordable prices. Why I chose PrintPlace online printing services I chose...

People can leave their offices and still stay fully connected and work on the move. The printer remains the one device that seemed to have missed the mobile revolution. Our new startup company has come up with a new product to turn this necessary accessory into a mobile tool by creating a mini mobile robotic printer that can be can used simply by placing it on a blank sheet of paper. The company works with the main focus on changing existing products in the market through innovation and making them more efficient, and the Pocket Printer aptly reiterates this objective. The printing industry is highly fragmented, with the four largest printing companies accounting for less than 25% of the industry’s revenue. This indicates that there is no clear domination and new companies do not face strong barriers to entry (Printing in the US Industry). There are two direct competitors, the portable printers offered by Canon and HP. They have both received positive reviews and show a general rising popularity on Google trends indicating an interest in the product category. While the pocket printer is a unique product, there are some weaknesses in the current prototype...

...organization." Indeed, by early June 1995, many group and division managers at the $4.9 billion printing giant had yet to sign on to the strategic potential of digital technology or accept the Digital Division as the most appropriate locale for the business. Some still saw digital printing as a technology in search of a market. Others had indicated that if they did decide to embrace digital printing, they might do so on their own. These concerns were very much on the minds of Schetter and Mary Lee Schneider, the division's director of marketing, as they sat down for a meeting on June 7, 1995. In two weeks Schneider was scheduled to make a presentation to one of Donnelley's business groups, Book Publishing Services, which was deciding whether to move into digital technology on its own or to bring its digital work to the division. Schetter and Schneider were hoping to craft a plan that would convince the Books Group to come to them. But they were still struggling to find convincing arguments and the right set of incentives. Company and Industry Background R. R. Donnelley & Sons was founded in 1864. By 1995, it had become the world’s largest commercial printer, with 41,000 employees in 22 countries. A privately held, family-run, Chicagobased company for almost a century, Donnelley went public in 1956; the first outsider was named chairman 20 years later. Donnelley had begun printing telephone directories and the Montgomery Ward catalog in the late 1800s and still generated 60%...

Create an Office Recyling Program

...trashcan. Set out item-specific trashcans: one for items to recycle (such as paper at desks and aluminum cans in break rooms) and one for everything else (food and what is not on the recycling list). Either provide everyone with two trashcans (if there is room) or scatter bins in convenient areas. Be sure your waste collection service (i.e., janitorial staff) also recycles. Ask to see what they do now, and let them know how you expect your recycling to be handled. Designate and train selected internal personnel to resolve paperrelated issues – e.g., unjam a copier, or cancel a print job that is popping out sheet after sheet of blank paper. (This will also minimize your maintenance call service fees and equipment down times.) Teach your employees how to properly use software to decrease blank pages and reduce toner usage. For example, in MS Word, setting odd/even pages, and printing in draft mode as well as duplex format. (Be sure you have at least one printer that supports duplex printing.) Encourage black and white printing over color. Color cartridges are far more expensive than black/white cartridges. To really curtail the color printing, require that a password be entered when trying to print, and limit this functionality to specific individuals. Remove printers from desktops. Employees might be more inclined to print less if they have to keep walking back and forth to the printer. The exception would be...

Makerbot Summary

...CEO-MAKERBOT CORP XXXXXXX, BUSINESS STRATEGIST-MAKERBOT CORP STRATEGY PLAN FOR MAKERBOT CORP SEPTEMBER 8, 2014 This memorandum is aimed to highlight a few important strategies Makerbot needs to adapt that would help it in creating a revolution in the 3D desktop printing space which would result in an increase in the market share and total revenue which would subsequently make Makerbot an undisputed leader in the 3D Printing space and place themselves in a winning position. The company has to focus on their core strength and work towards targeting a larger customer base and affordable printing solution with unparalleled innovation as the main driving force resulting in a substantial advantage in the competitive landscape of 3D printing. To begin with, Makerbot should adopt the Microsoft model for business. Microsoft always believed in the licensing model for its software services (Windows & office software suite) which is the biggest revenue generating factor for the American Multinational. Makerbot should venture into a licensing model for its software. If the end user experience is good, reliable & affordable, there is no reason why Makerbot as an OEM would not enter into the league of high performance players in the 3D printing market space. The best always comes from the best resources and Makerbot, as always, should invest time and energy to recruit the best in the business and develop the OS which would not only exceed expectations but would attract higher customer base and cash...
