...Q1. The rapid growth of project oriented organization (POO) can be summarized as follows. 1. “One size does not fit all” – no matter global giants or small medium enterprises realized that lack of interface between projects and organization should lead to failure in such global and dynamic environment. Even though, traditional functional or matrix structure may deliver better results than POO in some areas such as resources across projects and organization-wide knowledge management. The emergence of the need for POO is also associated with the increasing number and complexity of projects throughout the global economics. Under such circumstance, project-oriented structure can deliver speedy response to market need and reduce the “time to market”. 2. “Moore’s Law” – described the computer hardware capacity could be doubled by every year. Even the “Moore’s law” was initially made originally for the forecast of technological change, the numerous and significant innovations in the past decades already impacted across industries, organizations, programs and projects. Such rapid expansion of technological possibilities in various areas of enterprise, R&D literature provided the development of new products or services which require specialists or expertise people from diversified areas. Such evolution make POO becomes the more generic term of managing projects among “Functional” and “Matrix” organization. 3. “Dynamic Boundaries and Context” – POO has dynamic boundaries...

...my objective of taking up a research oriented career in biomedical and health care engineering with emphasis on biomechanics. Early days of my student life instilled in me a liking for technical and experimentation oriented field. This was when I understood my proper taste and skill that included a profound love for science and mathematics. I took keen interest to develop in me, an inquisitive attitude engraving a deep rooted love for science and mathematics scoring over 82% in my high school and 73% in the higher secondary sections with above 75% marks in science and mathematics. I have done a certified course in Microsoft Office. I have obtained Certificate of Merit for computer programming from NIIT. The immense opportunities, research prospective and newest innovations in medical field drove my attention away from all other realms of technology. I decided to pursue my Bachelors Degree in Biomedical Engineering that could link me with both engineering and medical fields respectively. I am currently pursuing my Bachelor Of technology degree in BME from a very well established university. I have always strived hard to keep myself updated and abreast of the latest trends and developments in the field of Biomedical and Healthcare Engineering. Working in projects from semester 4 was indeed a great experience that paved way to enhance my analytical, mathematical and hardware designing and circuit debugging skills. The 4th semester project entitled Digital Heartbeat Counter was...

...OOP as Compared to Using Only PP Name University OOP as Compared to Using Only PP Object oriented programming is one programming ideal model that uses the idea of abstraction (as objects and classes) to make models focused at the environment based on the real world. An object oriented application utilizes a gathering of objects, which are conveyed by passing messages to ask for different services. These objects are fit for passing messages, getting messages, and handling information. The point of programs coded using object oriented programming is to attempt to build the adaptability and practicality of projects. Since projects made utilizing an object oriented programming language are measured, they might be less demanding to create, and more straightforward to see after the development of the program itself (Sintes, 2002). There are many arguments between the differences between object oriented programming and procedural programming. Many claim that the latter is much better than the former because of the latter’s advantages. To understand it more, let us put it this way. Projects are made up of different modules, which are considered as individual parts of a program that could be coded and tried out independently, and afterward collected to structure a complete system. In procedural programming languages such as C, these modules are known as procedures, where a system is a grouping of different statements. In the C programming language, for instance, the procedures...

...Project Management Competencies in the Project Oriented Organization In the project-based organization, project management (pm) competences are not only required by individuals, but also by project teams and by organizations. As project management has to be considered as a core competence of the project-based organization (called in this document the project-oriented organization, POO), this competence has to be explicitly developed by the organization. ...faster. Today, several research directions of both disciplines come closer together and are beginning to build new research areas. Software Agents play an important role as research objects in Distributed AI (DAI) as well as in agentoriented software engineering (AOSE). Knowledge-Based Systems (KBS) are being investigated for learning software organizations (LSO) as well as knowledge engineering. Ambient Intelligence (AmI) is a new research area for distributed, non-intrusive, and intelligent software systems both from the direction of how to build these systems as well as how to design the collaboration between ambient systems. Last but not least, Computational Intelligence (CI) plays an important role in research about software analysis or project management as well as knowledge discovery in databases or machine learning. Furthermore, in the last five to ten years several books, journals, and conferences have focused on the intersection between AI and SE. The international conference and associated journal Automated...

...Project management competence in public sector infrastructure organisations PANTALEO MUTAJWAA DANIEL RWELAMILA* Graduate School of Business Leadership, University of South Africa, PO Box 392, UNISA 0003, South Africa Received 3 June 2006; accepted 2 November 2006 Public sector organisations responsible for infrastructure development in most non-industrialised countries, which include infrastructure departments/ministries, parastatal organisations and other statutory organisations qualify as project-oriented organisations (POO). There are strong indications to suggest that these organisations’ project management (PM) competencies leave a lot to be desired. At face value they purport to be fully fledged project-oriented organisations and performing as competent PM organisations, while in reality they are predominantly dependent on accidental project managers. This paper reports on a study that was carried out in one of the large infrastructure departments in South Africa. The focus is on one of the premiere programmes managed by the department. The management of the programme is scrutinised in order to establish the department/ministry’s PM competence. An evaluation of the performance of the programme was carried out in relation to the ministry’s mandate in order to assess its PM competence. It is found that the programme in its current form could be described as a ‘white elephant’ and a programme that does not have an appropriate organisation structure, nor appropriate...

...Assignment received a 95 University of Pheonix MBA 531 Successful leaders know the direction in which they are travelling and have a planned destination, and how they will get there. I would like to take this opportunity based on my leadership abilities to define the position that best suits my qualifications and that will most benefit the company as we undergo expansion and restructuring. Based on the basic personality assessment I scored high on being goal and task-oriented. This means that I am very responsible, reliable, and achievement oriented. The task-oriented leadership style includes aspects of task management and leadership. This style includes coordinating work activities, paying attention to details, monitoring progress of assignments. The leadership style suggests that I take responsibility for decisions and setting strategic goals to perform my assigned tasks. In addition to being goal oriented, I am also very cautious. The cautious styles’ strengths include an eye for detail and accuracy, dependability, persistence, follow-through, and organization. The cautious styles behavior indicates that I like to gather all the facts before I begin to offer my opinion. People with a cautious behavioral style are comfortable when others communicate logical messages. They tend to carefully listen to others so they can sort the trivial messages from those with substance. They tend to be methodical and systematic. The cautious leader usually has high...
