Project Plan Part Two
Introduction
The process of developing a project budget is one of the most important aspects in a project. It can help you manage and gain control over your expenses. This way, you can be ascertained that you are not bridging on the red line of overspending. Indicating a budget for the entire project can benefit a researcher like you if and only if you perfected the technique in designing a project budget. To be able to create a win-win project budget, simply follow all these steps.
First, check the availability of the funds. Determine how much money you are willing to spend for this project. Second, anticipate all the possible mandatory expenses that this project would incur. Third, identify the necessary elements and concepts of the project budget. Fourth and last, put all these ideas or plans on a clean sheet of paper (Dodge, 2015).
Point out all the readily- accessible resources
It is good to note that Head Start Directories give off a wide array of resource and contact data. Each directory offers a short but accurate and complete description along with the most significant facts and details leading to the acquisition of other relevant information ("The Voice of Head Start in Georgia. ", 2007). These directories also provide a comprehensive system or database that allows us to peep through the real setting of the Head Start Community.
Design a Labor Budget
In most cases, designing a plausible labor budget takes a couple of weeks to complete. Thus, doing so requires a lot amount of time spent in researching and reflecting on ideas and assumptions.
1. Recognize the existing budget for the Head Start Program. This can be done by collecting additional information and data from existing publicly- funded programs ("How To Estimate

Steps to Writing a Grant Proposal

...A grant proposal is a representation of a program plan. A plan indicates the approach the applicant will use to identify the needs or problems. A grant proposal has several major sections that outline the program plan: the abstract, table of contents, specific aims/background and significance/needs and problem statement, target population, approaches and methods, activity plans and scheduling (timeline), agency capacity and program management, budget and budget justification, evaluation plan, (Yuen/Terao, 2003). An abstract is a summary of the contents within the grant proposal. It consists of 45 lines, but one page is recommended. Contradictory to one another, the abstract is the shortest part of the proposal, but also the most important and most read. An abstract, to any piece of writing, is typically the go-to piece to read so there can be avoidance of reading something that may not be of interest to the reader. Better yet, it provides that first impression for anyone who reads it. The following are included in the contents of the abstract of a grant proposal: agency name and the type of organization it is, the purpose and objectives of the project, specific interventions for the project, target population such as race, demographic, age, gender, special needs, location and setting of the project, and the relevance of the proposal to the funding source (Yuen/Terao, 2003). Considering that the abstract is the most important piece as well as a summary for the proposal, it is...

Proposal

...U.S.-Israel Science & Technology Foundation Tips on How to Write a Proposal In addition to the title page and budget forms, the USISTF only provides a general outline of the items to include in a proposal. Here are some tips to help you prepare a better proposal. Before you begin preparation of your proposal, carefully read the “Request for Proposals” (RFP) and “Frequently Asked Questions” (FAQs) to clearly understand the issues to be addressed and the information you are required to submit. All proposals must include certain basic information. These basics include: Why are you doing this project? What will you be doing? How will you be doing it? Who will be doing it? Where will it be done? How long will it take? How much will it cost? The following generic proposal template is provided for guidance only. The USISTF does not require a specific format. Follow this format in organizing your thoughts for preparing your proposal. Executive Summary: Some people consider this the most important part of the proposal because it is the reviewer’s first impression. Even though it appears first, write it last because it is a summary of the proposal. The executive summary is a concise description of the project covering objectives, need, methodology, and dissemination plans. It should identify the expected outcomes of the project. An executive summary should be less than 750 words and fit on one page. Need: Well-documented description of the problem to be addressed and why it is important...

Impact of Complexity and Uncertainty on Project Planning Process

Besner and Hobbs project (2012) established that size, complexity and together with risk (known unknown) and uncertainty (unknown unknown) are path of project characteristics to be considered in selection of project management toolsets to be adopted in their management approach. Case Study 2

The criteria should be consistent with the business environment for the industry, consistent with your company's overall mission/strategies, and consistent with the mission and strategies of your strategic business unit. You are proposing a process, not individual projects. The deliverable for Part 1 is a written proposal for the project selection criteria and a high level description of a proposed portfolio management process. You may also be expected to make an informal presentation of the report in class. The proposal should be in the form of a memorandum to your Vice President (your instructor) outlining your proposal. The memorandum should be no more than 10 pages, including any figures and tables. It should be double-spaced, 10 or 12 point font with one-inch margins. This is a summary for an executive, so be concise, to the point, and leave out the fluff. If you don't need 10 pages to document your proposal fully, I am sure that your Vice President will be happy with less as long as it is complete. Using appropriate grammar, spelling, punctuation, and sentence structure will be part of your grade. The actual proposal should include the following: 1. A description of the proposed portfolio process. You are explaining it to the executives. 2. The reasons it was selected (tie to...

Project Planning and Feasibility Studies

...5. Project Planning and Feasibility Studies Project planning is part of project management, which relates to the use of schedules such as Gantt charts to plan and subsequently report progress within the project environment. Initially, the project scope is defined and the appropriate methods for completing the project are determined. Following this step, the durations for the various tasks necessary to complete the work are listed and grouped into a work breakdown structure. The logical dependencies between tasks are defined using an activity network diagram that enables identification of the critical path. Float or slack time in the schedule can be calculated using project management software. Then the necessary resources can be estimated and costs for each activity can be allocated to each resource, giving the total project cost. At this stage, the project plan may be optimized to achieve the appropriate balance between resource usage and project duration to comply with the project objectives. Once established and agreed, the plan becomes what is known as the baseline. Progress will be measured against the baseline throughout the life of the project. Analyzing progress compared to the baseline is known as earned value management. The inputs of the project planning phase include the project charter and the concept proposal. The outputs of the project planning phase include the project requirements, the project schedule, and the project management plan. Feasibility studies...

...Project Plan Proposal Part One PM/586 Project Quality Management January 20, 2014 James Aiken Project Plan Proposal Part One Introduction The selection process that this Georgia- based Head Start Program holds the focal point of this project proposal. As of the moment, selecting the beneficiaries of this project or program is based on a lottery system. In a circumstance where your child is selected, they are then permitted and encouraged to attend the head start program at no extra cost. On the contrary, if a child is not selected in the lottery, he could still join the program; but his family will be obliged to pay for the program at its own expense. This proposal aims to design a head start program that is all-inclusive and free. This points out to a program that involves all children in state of Georgia where it is originally headquartered. Project Approach and Methodology Used Essentially Project Management is characterized as a well- structured and planned approach towards efficient implementation of the set of activities intended for the entire project (Mutt, 2010). To be able to perform this paper, I prefer to utilize traditional approaches such as initiation, design or planning, execution, close monitoring and generalization after completion. Project Scope Many families claim that, no doubt, their children have the desire to attend the program but lack the financial potential to pay for it. It can be noted that kindergarten years serves as the...

Medical Information System

...submitting a proposal to upgrade the information system for the entire regional medical practice. The project included integrating the six offices and two pharmacies into one system; the physicians will eventually hire an information systems person to oversee the operation of the system. Dr. Houser wanted Paul’s firm to do it, rather than other large consulting firms, which had prepared a request for proposal with the help of the organization’s purchasing manager. However, the divergence existed among Paul’s group. Paul was enthusiastic about the opportunity, while Maggie moaned that she couldn’t spend any time helping with the proposal, and Steve said this project was too big to do for them. Significant Learning Points 1. Sometimes organizations identify several or many needs but have limited funds and people available to pursue potential projects to address all of those needs. In this case, the three partners must go through a decision-making process to prioritize and selected the project that would result in the greatest overall benefit. 2. Projects are identified in various ways by different organizations. It is important to clearly define the need. This may require gathering data about the need or opportunity to help determine if it is worth pursuing. Paul wanted to propel their firm into a new business arena, while Maggie and Steve thought it was not the best decision. They focused on different objectives. 3. Develop a set of criteria against which the project will...
