I see a shadow running past the window as my vision inches closer to the house. It isn't the first time my dreams have brought me here and I know it won't be the last. There is something that happens every time I arrive, but I'm already too late to see the crime taking place by the time I arrive. Yet for once, I'm outside the house as the build up of events is taking place and I can feel the tension rising in the air. I feel myself moving forward, but I know I am unseen to everyone else around me, even though there is barely anyone in this secluded area as it is. A sudden movement catches my attention on the left side of the house and my heart thrashes harshly in my chest. Anxiety rushes over me as I watch the front door slowly open towards me and I see both of them standing in the narrow hall way in the middle of a heated argument. The words nearly incoherent to me, I struggle to hear the content of their disagreement, but its impossible with the sound of the bitter wind outside. Suddenly, I'm being pulled forward into the house, racing through an ending obstacle course through the disaster they called home. Their yelling, or his to be exact, echoes off the walls and sounds as if they're right in my ear. A force stops me at the bottom of the stairs where the kitchen is to my right, trashed as if a tornado had just blown through. My vision zooms in on the counter top where there is a small splatter of blood on the corner as if someone had been holding onto it with a bloody hand moments before. There are footsteps shuffling upstairs, but my mind focuses on the droplets of blood leading over to the stairs. A vase or something similar is thrown at the wall in the hallway, and I'm rushed once more to the scene of the crime. This part is all too familiar to me, but instead of the typical view of the man's wife on the bedroom floor, her body flies into the wall at the same spot the glass had just broken a few seconds ago. The woman screams from the pain of the initial impact of the wall as well as the shards digging into her back now. For the slightest moment I catch a glimpse of his five o'clock shadow as he grabs her ankles and yanks her back into the bedroom. Slowly, my vision makes its way closer to the opening of their bedroom and I'm able to witness when he picks up the lamp. I feel myself wanting to scream for him to stop, but my voice is only heard within myself as he smashes her head repeatedly. Blood splatters all over the front of his body and slowly her body begin to convulse until her last breath is made. He lowers his arms to his sides as he stares down at her body breathing heavily. I want to cry; I want to run, but I can't move. It isn't until he looks up at me when everything finally fades to black.

I jolt up from my sleep and feel the sweat beads drip down from my forehead. It's always the same dream that puts me into a frenzied state when I first wake up, but this time I was able to see everything, even the detailed flooring they had recently put in. It's been a couple months that I've been having this dream and it always ends the moment he looks up at me. I honestly don't know what to think about this on-going nightmare, but something is telling me there is more to the story than what the dream is telling me and it's as if some force is urging for me to dig deeper. Following after my daily morning routine, I head to the kitchen after my shower to start the coffee maker and then go over to my laptop to begin some research on anything pertaining to this murder I keep seeing. After making a cup of coffee to my liking, I start clicking on the various web pages that the search engine has displayed for me to see if I can find any information, but everything seems to lead me to something that has nothing to do with the murder I'm looking for. Honestly, all I want is to make sure that the killer has been caught and some justice was brought to the woman he killed because then maybe these dreams will stop happening. The searches end up doing nothing more than wasting my time, so I decide that it's time to go to the local sheriff department to see if anyone there has any insight they can offer me. I don't worry about getting dressed any special way, so I just throw on a pair of jeans and a white t-shit to be on my way. The sun is beaming down in my area today, so I quickly grab my shades off the table as I close the front door behind me. As soon as I turn around, I see the mail man walking up my drive way. “Oh, I didn't know you were here!” “Just delivering your mail for the day. You got a package from Florida!” He hands me the bundle of mail from his bag and tips his hat as he leaves to continue delivering his mail to the other inhabitants of the block. I know that the package is from my mother because she had told me she was sending me something the week before, but my mind was more focused on the details of the murder. I go into my house for a moment to leave the mail on the dining room table and then proceed to head to the station which is only a few blocks away from my house. Within minutes, I'm walking through the double doors of the department looking for someone who seems as if they could help me with my request. My eye catches someone at the filing cabinet behind the front desk and I wait for her to approach me to speak. She turns around and in surprise she jumps for a moment laughing. “Sandra, I didn't know you were standing there!” Walking closer to the desk, she grabs a notebook from underneath the table and places it in front of me as she hands me a pen. “What brings you here today?” “I wanted to know if you could give me any details on something.” I lean in closer to Lynette and whisper with grave importance, “I need details on a murder.” Lynette's eyes open wide as if I had said something terrible or repulsive to her, but her expression quickly changes to confusion within a matter of seconds. “That kind of information is classified. I can't just give that to you, but what in the world do you need it for?” I go on to explain to her the extensive details of my dreams, including the most recent one last night, and the entire time she just looks at me like I have two heads. I could tell she isn't exactly won over at the moment even after she knows the situation I'm trying to figure out, so I opt for some lesser details. “Well how about the house I described? Does it sound like a crime scene?” “Girl, I don't go on the field anymore. I just file papers all day, but I do think I recently saw that house on a website or something.” She goes over to her computer and after a few minutes of searching through real estate listings, she finds the exact house from my dream. “It's an old listing. I heard they were going to fix it up and resell it eventually.” I jot down the address into my phone's navigation system and say my thanks to her as I head back towards my house. Luckily I grabbed my keys before I left my house, so when I arrive back there, I'm able to go straight into my car to find the house. More fortunate, it doesn't take me too long to get to the house because it's a few miles outside of the town I currently reside in. Pulling up to the house, I pause for a moment and stare because I couldn't believe that it is the exact house from my dreams. Pastel yellow vinyl sidings and the red wooden trim around the windows are staring me in the face as I get out of my car, beginning my journey up the walkway. For some reason, both my feet and vision seem to be following the way I moved in the dream, so I let it happen the way it wants because it feels natural to me from seeing it so many times before. Checking to make sure no one else is around, not that there is many people around the area anyway, and then make a quick dash into the house just to be on the safe side. Even though there isn't anyone outside, I still check the windows one last time before searching the house, to be sure that no one had secretly caught me coming inside. Once I see that the cost is clear, I take a deep breath to get rid of the anxious feeling I have from being in this murder house. Even though it is still bright outside from the midday sun, it seems as if the darkness from the previous events has cast a shadow over the entire house. Looking forward, I see that the floor is at a worse state than that of my dream which leads me to believe that it had to have been quite a few years since the murder took place. I walk down the narrow hallway, following the steps in my dream and look around at the walls to check out some stains that are lightly brushed along the walls. I'm not sure whether or not it is from the murder, but it's still disturbing to look at regardless. My head is reeling as I near closer to the kitchen and immediately I check to see if I can see any stains left on the counter, but I'm not expecting to see much since it has been so long. No surprise when I don't see anything on the counter or on the floor leading to the stairs, but this is when my heart begins to race faster. I gulp back my trepidation as I take the steps slowly and one at a time until I am standing completely in the hallway. I turn around for a moment to look down at the first floor because it feels like someone is there, but after a few seconds I come to the realization is just in my imagination, so I continue walking down the hallway until a glistening object catches her eye. I glance at the wall and see a few shards of glass directly across from the bedroom, which is probably the vase he threw when I had been downstairs in the kitchen when the dream was taking place. Turning around to look into the dark and dusty bedroom, my eyes search for a body stain, a blood stain or any stain for that matter, but the only visible damage is the obvious wear and tear from over the years. What is even worse about this situation is that the lamp that I saw in my dream is sitting right on the dresser where he had originally picked it up from. I walk over to the bed slowly and sit down zoning into my own wold of confusion, but my phone buzzes me back into reality. “Hey Lynette, what's going on?” I'm slightly disconnected from the conversation because my own mind is wondering into different possibilities as to what happened here. She breathes softly into the phone and then laughs a little to herself before answering me back. “You're dream intrigued me to look into the files and you're not going to believe this.” She pauses for dramatic effect and then continues effortlessly with the news she has to tell me. “There has never been a murder in that house.” Her words sting me like salt sprinkled over an open cut as she repeats the sentence to me thinking I didn't hear it the first time because I'm staying quiet. “What do you mean there's never been a murder? I saw it myself!” “I don't know, but I searched the records and no one has lived in that house for over fifty years. An old couple had owned it and left it for their kids, but it ended up being turned over to the state. They're going to fix it up and put it up on the market.” “Maybe I just saw something on TV and I just kept replaying it in my head or something.” We exchange a few more words with each other and then I hang up the phone stuck in the weight of her confession. How could nothing have happened here when I saw it so vividly in my dreams for the past few weeks? I was sure that the house looked this way because of the fact it had been so long since the murder, not because no one lived here for almost fifty years, but now I don't know what to think. My head is spinning and I didn't know what to do. I traveled to this house that I so desperately wanted to fine to see the scene of a crime, just to find out that there wasn't even a crime here to begin with. It makes absolutely no sense to me at all, but I see no further reason to be here when I already found out everything I wanted to know, which turned out to be nothing at all.

A few weeks later, I decide to watch the real estate listings on TV because a friend of mine is looking for a new house to move into when she has her baby. I am happy to admit that the dreams have stopped for the most part, but they still happen every now and again, just not as often. Settling on one of the channels, it takes all of ten minutes for me to find something worth looking at. The same house that I had visited weeks ago is on TV currently listed as sold and the final price had been almost two hundred grand after they brought the house up to date. Flashes of the murder I had believed to be nothing more than a fallacy in my head now play throughout my mind as I stare at the screen. Without even thinking, I grab my keys off the living room table and head off to the house in a matter of minutes. When I arrive at the house, there are a lot of trucks from a home remodeling company taking their leave. I pull off to the side and get out of my car once the coast is clear, making sure no one is in sight once again before I run towards the house. As if luck is on my side, the front door is left open a crack so I'm able to slip in undetected by the new security system I see they have installed. I make sure to memorize how the door looks so I can leave it the same way when I'm finished checking the house out and not get myself arrested for trespassing. It takes me a moment to take in that this is the same house I was in a few weeks prior because it looks completely different from back then. There is one obvious difference that I had my mind confused once again, and that is the fact that the house looks like it had in my dream in this current moment. The flooring that had just recently been put down today is the exact same flooring I noted from my dream. Going down the hallway, I take note on how the walls have just been repainted the same egg shell white that it was in my dream, without a blemish or a stain blocking it's perfection. I walk into the kitchen to find that it's also been remodeled to look the exact way I remembered from the dream. Feeling like I am stuck in the twilight zone, I run upstairs only to find that in the section where there was broken glass last time I was here, there is now a beautiful antique mirror placed on the wall. I run into the bedroom and see that the lamp is still in the same place, but the carpets have been replaced to none other than the ones in my dream. I am completely going out of my mind and nothing is making sense to me anymore being in this house, but soon I hear footsteps downstairs that startle me to the point of tripping over my own two feet. I end up falling forward and the footsteps I heard before end up rushing up the stairs to the bed room. A man and a woman who look very happy with themselves, are standing at the doorway staring at me confused. I stand up in front of them and immediately apologize to the both of them for my intrusion, hoping it's enough for them to not call the cops on me. “I'm so sorry. The door was open and this house had been empty for so long, I wanted to see what they had done in here.” “It's quite alright. I'm pretty sure everyone around here would want to see the house.” The man steps forward to speak, but when the light hits his face, there is something familiar about the way he looks. The woman glances up at the man for a moment and then shakes her head as she speaks to me, but there is something familiar about her as well. “It is a pretty nice house.” “I should be leaving now. Enjoy your new home.” I say a quick goodbye to the of them and then rush out of the house just as fast as I showed up here before.. I glance back at the house one last time before driving off completely, still confused as to why the both of them look as if I know them. It isn't until I reach my house that everything finally crashes down on me. I finally realize why and how I seem to know them. The murder I am seeing in my nightmare isn't a crime that has happened in the past like I thought it was. In fact, the murder I have been dreaming of is one that is going to happen. Oh the joys of being psychic. Looks like I have another job to take care of aside from my actual job. First stop, sheriff department.

Psychic Crimes

...endorse psychics at all, but Robbie Thomas is one I totally stand behind.” Quote by the International Police Chief, Kevin Smith. (Thomas 12) Even skeptics have come to realize that psychics can solve crimes. You may know about psychics, but you most likely have not heard of psychics solving crimes. Sounds unbelievable, but it is true. Psychics have helped solve crimes. The origin of psychic powers is only a theory, but one science stands by. As humans, we only use approximately ten percent of our brain. If someone has the ability to balance both the right and left sides of their brain, they use more areas of their brain where some psychic abilities can be located. Mediums Paranormal

...Psychic Mediums Psychic mediums are humans with what is perceived as paranormal power, giving them the supposed ability to view a portion of your future, past or present life. They rely on reading the person in front of them and the energy that is not viewable to others to give their visitors what they believe they have come for. Mediums use clairaudience to mentally hear (faculty of perceiving by sound), clairvoyance to see (faculty of perceiving things), claircognizance to know (psychic knowledge) and clairsentience to feel (psychic feelings only the medium feels) messages from spirits. Being discussed in this paper are many famous psychic mediums like Theresa Caputo, James Van Praagh and Craig Hamilton-Parker. Some may argue that physic mediums are frauds, while some may argue that their powers are entirely real. In my opinion, human ignorance can overpower reality. As stated prior, many believe that physic mediums are deceptive, as they could easily give an inquirer a very brief message about their future or loved one that may apply to many. However, those who visit a medium and are given these general messages that apply may from then on have an unrelenting faith in their ability. Although there may be no scientific way to prove that their claim is accurate or not, if their declarations do not fall drastically short of the truth, the individual receiving their message would not feel the need to disprove them. How did they find these things out? Who told them? And why...

Skeptible Thinking

...watching some of these videos and reading comments and skepticism about these so called "psychics" or "healers", the only thing that would cross my mind is the ability that these men and women have to actually try and manipulate the weak minded to fill their own pockets. From the very beginning the first thing I thought was, how desperate were these people for financial gain? The believers who fell for the scams were sadly just being human and as a human, we like to put our faith in something to feel more at ease about anything that is bothering us. Which is why religion is an often easy target for scammers because there is no definite proof since it is all based on faith, and anybody willing to be credible enough to go in the lords name must be telling the truth, but the power of money is far more powerful then the faith of these "healers". Sylvia Browne on the other hand is a different story with the same context. She also uses an idea or faith which cannot be proven to make a personal gain off of others losses. In her videos, she seems absolutely sure in her readings but we find out later, almost everything she had said was false. Now, if a "real" credible psychic could come up with these accusations in front of millions and know that they are false, what would be the reason? Money! Money is the fuel source that drives the train of deceit for these people. I personally believe that these psychics or spiritual healers are absolutely fake and there is an uncountable amount of evidence...

...Science Fiction’s ideas have always been part of many people’s conspiracies throughout the years. Whether it is raising the dead or aliens are among us. In this paper, I will be talking about one of science fictions classic conspiracy theories, Super Soldiers. When I say Super Soldiers, I mean the kinds that were genetically enhance. I have found that when someone hears “super soldiers’ their minds automatically go to Captain America or Master Chief from the Halo game series. Captain America started as a small lanky soldier that gotten injected with some type of serum that turns him in to the perfect solider. Is the military trying to make their own Captain America and Master Chief with a few extra abilities? If so, who is leading the testing and what types of powers are they trying to give to our soldiers? To try to answer these questions I had to start with where did this conspiracy stemmed from. Good game ideas might be common, but good development teams are rare; the publisher will want to see evidence that you have the resources and experience to get the job done. Current Status Start by letting the publisher know where you are now. If you have actually begun some prototype work or proof-of-concept work, say so and indicate what features it contains. If the game is still no more than a gleam in your eye, leave this section out. Completed prototype demonstrating military (but not psychic) game features. Development Team List the names and qualifications of your key people. Indicate what role each will play in the project. Don’t include their entire résumés; nobody will read all that. Instead, give a one-paragraph synopsis of each person’s history, including who they’ve worked for, in what position, and what games they already have credited to them. Anomalistic Psychology

... Paranormal refers to something that is cannot be scientifically explained. Paranormal experiences include things like hallucinations, mystical experiences, out of body experiences, telepathic experiences, psychokinetic experiences and lucid dreaming. According to Targ, Schlitz & Irwin (2000) 35 – 50 % of people say they have had a telepathic experience and 20% report being regular lucid dreamers according to LaBerge & Gackenbach (2000). More than 30 % of people believe in dreams predicting the future and 40% of people believe in telepathy Schott B. (2007). There is research into anomalistic psychology to see why these numbers are relatively high for events that seem to be scientifically impossible. One explanation is the cognitive deficit hypothesis which is broken down in to multiple cognitive processes like perception and memory. It explains how these processes do not work properly and therefore may make a person susceptible to believe in the paranormal. Misperception is a cognitive bias which people perceive something different to the truth. Apophenia means to perceive meaning in randomness or connecting event that don’t relate, this is often used to explain anomalous experiences. What this means is people may see something and their mind tries to create a meaning or a connection when there isn’t one. A newer study by Merckelbach and Van (2002) based on the White Christmas experiment showed that among 44 undergraduate students, those who pressed the button when they thought...

Research on Parapsychology and Its Impact on New Age

...Research on Parapsychology and its impact on New Age Describe and evaluate a major scientific breakthrough of the past 10 years, discussing the challenges faced in developing it.   Introduction Many events, phenomenon and concepts such as existence of alien and soul, channeling and telepathy, which are unexplainable, are considered to be supernatural origin. For that origin, parapsychology, which is a scientific study of paranormal behaviors and experiences, may provide the answer for us. In fact, parapsychology, which can be proven by quantum physics, makes the concept of new age more complete and persuadable. Thus, quantum physics and parapsychology, which have a strong relationship between them, make a great impact on new age. Nevertheless, the challenges are many people may think that paranormal phenomenon and these concepts are frauds and ridiculous. Psychics of Santa Claus

...Santa Claus Ever since I was a little kid, it was a tradition on Christmas Eve to get ready for the arrival of Santa Claus. To prepare for St. Nick’s arrival, weeks before I would write out my wish list and send it in the mail to get to him. On Christmas eve, my family would set out cookies and milk for him as well as carrots for the reindeer. I would then go to bed early so that he would come, and I would wake up Christmas morning to find a plethora of presents lying underneath the decorated Christmas tree. Growing older as a kid, I realized that Santa Claus actually does not exist. This raises the question: Why is it that Santa Claus is featured everywhere, but does not really exist? In the Secrets of the Psychics, Randi said in the 1980’s that he lived in a world of fantasy. In the video, Randi wants to give up any fantasy he has so that he can live in a real world. Santa Claus was an iconic figure that appeared in movies, the mall to take pictures with, and in storybooks. Even though as adults we know that Santa Claus does not exist, It is nearly impossible to disprove claims of people that insist that they have seen a flying saucer or have been abducted by aliens or that they saw Santa Clause climbing down their chimney. According to Skeptic magazine, “Preying on the emotions of grieving people is not only unethical but can also be very dangerous. It is sad and even deplorable that radio and TV gives such people the publicity and ability to continue their fraud. But...

...Psychic workmanship has been used ever since, with each piece having its own function. Moreover, psychic items come in many various patterns and types.
