Background: To describe the perceptual errors that I have encountered in my work experience, I select my experience at Larsen & Toubro road construction site. The site’s organization constituted of a central office headed by the Chief Project Officer. The central office consisted of a planning team with one chief planning manager and 4 assistants working with him, an accounting team and one administration personnel. The project, being of very high value, was divided into four packages, each headed by a Project Manager. The CPO (Chief Project officer) who shared an excellent rapport with all the four project manager has just resigned from his post and a new person has been posted in his place. This new CPO carried with him, an image of being a “theory x” type of leader. He was portrayed, by his previous team, as one of the typical “psycho” bosses who didn’t have any accord to the personal emotions of the team working under him.
