...I. BUSINESS IDEA GENERATION A. MACRO SCREENING On the environmental level is the Macro Screening. This is based on our compilations of businesses among each members of the group. On the variables we used, we have agreed and came up with the 3 Businesses which are the HOTEL AND RESTAURANT, FARM and BAKESHOP. There are several businesses which are just the same as the other members already have, so we thought to combine the others. We had chosen the three businesses based on our first activity we have done. The table below shows our Macro screening of the 3 business ideas we have chosen. The table shows a result that business no. 3 or the Bakeshop business has the highest total points which we had considered among the 5 criterions (Personal Preference, Education /Training, Work Experience, Business Contacts, Family Support). The total weights on choosing the main business to discuss as a group should be on 100%. The Bakeshop Business has a total of 81.25% compared to 66.50% for the Farm Business and 53% for the Hotel and Restaurant. Therefore, putting up a Bakeshop is what we preferred most when we considered the variables on the environmental level. Thus, the bakeshop business would be easier for us because we have enough measures needed in the said business. INTERPRETATION OF THE TABLE: The Macro screening table above shows criterion in choosing a particular business in the environmental level that contains 5 criterions. From the Macro screening we have done, we come...

The decade ending 2005 witnessed a surge of three folds in assets to €5526 billion, lending and deposits more than two fold to €3284 billion and €4984 respectively. The financial sector’s productivity is growing at three times the pace of the economy and reflects an increasing share of the GDP. Last year, banks and financial services contributed £70 billion to the country’s national output, equivalent to nearly 7 percent of the country’s GDP – 100 % percent increase from 2003. UK leads as a major international center for investment and private banking, cross border banking and accounts for a fifth of global international lending; with banks in London handling a third of the global foreign exchange business. Deregulation, Competition and Consolidation UK’s banking industry has seen a radical transformation with market liberalization by deregulation and the resultant competition. The Building Societies Act of 1986 permitted building societies to widen their financial services to include insurance and allowed building societies to convert into banks. Life insurance firms moved into banking and banks diversified into mortgages and insurance. Mergers and acquisitions has been the other transformational...

...Final Exam Study Guide Important to Know the function of anterior and posterior pituitary gland. Anterior Pituitary Gland: (Adenohypophysis) The anterior pituitary gland regulates several physiological processes including stress, growth, reproduction and lactation (Adrenal, liver, bone, thryroid and gonads). -It is regulated by negative feedback and the hypothalamus. Major hormones: ACTH: Stimulates the adrenal cortex. TSH: Thyroid stimulating hormone, promotes secretion of thyroid hormone. FSH: Follicle-stimulating hormone, promotes growth of reproductive system. LH: Luteinizing hormone. Promotes sex hormone production GH: Growth hormone, promotes growth, lipid and carbohydrate metabolism. PRL: Prolactin, Milk production and progesterone/estrogen. -Hormones are secreted from the hypothalamus to the A. Pituitary so these hormones can be released. Posterior Pituitary Gland: Mainly axons extended from the hypothalamus. These axons contain and release neurohypophysial hormones oxytocin and vasopressin. Oxytocin: Targets the uterus, and mammary glands causing contractions and lactation. Vasopressin (ADH): Antidiuretic hormone, arginine vasopressin, argipressin. Stimulates water retention absorbs it back into blood causing raises blood pressure by contracting arterioles, and inducing male aggression.
