Philosophy of Quality
Introduction
Organizations and people are in competition with one another, therefore having quality is vital to its success. Quality can also be defined by receiving outstanding service from an individual or business. The perception of quality is thought of in various ways based on the individual defining it. Despite the various ways quality is defined, everyone knows the meaning when it is talked on. Philosophies by Joseph Juran, Edwards Deming and Philip Crosby became successful for their practice and teaching in what quality means, stands for and

Aristotle

...It may seen odd but writers from Paper Masters have researched and found that Aristotle takes much of his notion on friendship from politics. Research papers on Aristotle's view of friendship looks at the philosophy of Aristotle and explicates how this philosophy boils down to politics and virtue in a man. Aristotle's treatment of friendship, including his definitions of friendship, is found within his work on ethics, the "Nicomachean Ethics." Friendship is included within his discussion of his general ethical theory. Aristotle bases his ethical theory on two constructs: Politics Virtue In most of the "Nicomachean Ethics," Aristotle discusses these two major subjects as separate subjects; or when they are discussed in relation to each other, they are discussed mostly with respect to what proportion of each is found in political activities or the conditions or state of a person's life. For instance, the more political an action is, the less virtuous it may be. And the more virtuous is an individual, the less he may be involved in the practical ends of politics. As mentioned earlier, friendship is a blending of politics and virtue; it can be looked at as an ideal blending. The Philosophy of Friendship According to Aristotle Friendship is included as a subject in term papers about Aristotle as a part of his general ethical theory because friendship has to do with the good which is the fundamental of the general ethical theory. As Aristotle begins the "Nicomachean Ethics...

Personnel Leadership

...Below is a free essay on "Personal Leadership" from Anti Essays, your source for free research papers, essays, and term paper examples. This paper details my personal philosophy of leadership reflecting my views and beliefs of what constitutes a good leader and what good leadership practices are. My personal leadership philosophy includes ideas, views, and beliefs. Creating and writing a philosophy will prove to be a key factor that helps me establish my own set of supervision practices. I do believe that my view of leadership will also evolve over time to reach a style that works well for me and represents my character and my personality. The personal philosophy represented in this paper has been formed mainly through the readings and discussions in this course, in addition to my experience as a supervisor in my organization. I strongly believe that leadership means engaging others to collectively achieve a shared vision of moral purpose for the common good. This process includes creating the shared vision, using good communication skills, building quality relationships, developing a supporting organizational community, guiding the process of implementation, and acting with exceptional character. I believe a successful organization must have a well-articulated set of ideas, norms, and beliefs shared by the leader and all others in the organization. As a supervisor, I have to promote them in a way that touches on the needs and dreams of staff, which brings the vision up...

Lss Lean

...been undertaken on the implementation of lean within various industries, the many tools and techniques that form the “tool box”, and its integration with Six Sigma (mainly through case studies and action research), there has been little written on the journey towards the integration of the two approaches. This paper aims to examine the integration of lean principles with Six Sigma methodology as a coherent approach to continuous improvement, and provides a conceptual model for their successful integration. Design/methodology/approach – Desk research and a literature review of each separate approach is provided, followed by a view of the literature of the integrated approach. Findings – No standard framework for lean Six Sigma or its implementation exists. A systematic approach needs to be adopted, which optimises systems as a whole, focusing the right strategies in the correct places. Originality/value – This paper contributes to knowledge by providing an insight into the evolution of the lean Six Sigma paradigm. It is suggested that a clear integration of the two approaches must be achieved, with sufficient scientific underpinning. Keywords Lean production, Six sigma Paper type Literature review 1. Management Theory

...PHL717 Constructing Meaning 11-25-2006 This paper will compare and contrast a selected foundational philosophy of management theory to that of a more modern one. The comparison will entail a personal understanding of the evolution of management thought as it is represented in the philosophies under analysis. Personal view would indicate or relate the thought that “I believe that the task of any theory of managing is to produce generalizations that are actionable by managers in everyday life and that as managers use such generalizations, they create opportunities for robust tests of their validity. The business of science and the business of managing are not separable” (Argyrols, 1996, p. ?). While personal reflection shows that each chosen theory can correlate into the business world of today, as commonalities can be examined, each hold a number of differences that illuminates the individuality of the theory and the times in which the theory originated or was prominent. For this paper there will be a look into organization theory in part as portrayed by Peter Drucker from a modern perspective and a science management theory as devised by Frederick Taylor. In today’s organizational society there is a push for organizations to become more in line with a true learning organization, which essentially separates from the more mainstream or traditional authoritarian and controlling philosophy to that of a behavioral philosophy consisting of: personal clarification of one’s...

Karou Ishikawa

...Kaoru Ishikawa; A step ahead in quality philosophy R. A. Prosper Total Quality Management Professor Kinane November 17, 2012 Kaoru Ishikawa; A step ahead in quality philosophy Kaoru Ishikawa held the belief that quality must be companywide, including the product, service, management, the company itself, and the people. Mr. Ishikawa promoted the use of Quality Circles which he believed were the principal method for achieving participation as a problem solving tool. He gave his name to the Ishikawa diagram, also known as the fishbone diagram, or cause and effect diagram. This tool was designed to allow the user to see all possible causes of a result, and hopefully find the root of process imperfections. Ishikawa drew and expounded on principals from other quality gurus, including those of W. Edwards Deming and Juran into the Japanese system of quality management (Smith, 2006). This paper will attempt to highlight Mr. Ishikawa’s background, awards, achievements, philosophies, and his continuing impact on quality in today’s world. According to Ishikawa, quality improvement is a continuous process and it can always be taken one step further ("Kaoru ishikawa: The," 2012). Personal Philosophy of Nursing

...Personal Philosophy of Nursing Auburn University School of Nursing Abstract: This paper explores the personal nursing philosophy I plan to convey in my nursing career. I believe the nature of nursing is rooted in commitment to public service and the undeniable desire to help those in need. Nursing is more than treating an illness; rather it is focused on delivering quality patient care that is individualized to the needs of each patient. My philosophy of nursing incorporates the knowledge of medicine while combining it with relational, compassionate caring that respects the dignity of each patient. I believe nursing care should be holistic while honoring patient values. A crucial aspect of nursing is interprofessional relationships, and collaborative efforts among healthcare professionals promote quality patient care. My philosophy of nursing extends to my community in which health promotion is something I will continually strive for. I feel most fulfilled when I am serving and caring for others, and my personal nursing attitude is one that is centered on compassion and service. According to Merriam-Webster’s online dictionary (2012), a philosophy is “an analysis of the grounds of and concepts expressing fundamental beliefs,” and before entering to the profession of nursing...
