Qubee

Introduction: Qubee is the Augere wireless broadband business founded in 2007. It has a mission to provide "broadband for all" and seeks to bring broadband Internet services to underserved communities worldwide Qubee was launched in Pakistan in July 2009 and in Bangladesh in October 2009. Augere expected to launch Qubee in Uganda in 2010. Public limited company by shares registered on July 02, 2008 and incorporated in Bangladesh. Obtaining license from the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (“BTRC”), AWBBL is engaged in the business of providing broadband wireless access and related services in Bangladesh under the name and style of “QUBEE”.QUBEE is one of the leading broadband internet service providers in Bangladesh from Augure. We are a multinational with global experience, offering you a trouble-free access to internet deserve. Qubee is the creation of a group of global telecoms professionals who saw that a new technology called WiMAX could really change the internet experience for millions of people worldwide. WiMAX means that you don’t need telephone lines or cable to get connected: all you need is to live close enough to a transmitter to receive the internet wirelessly. Currently the company is busy building a network of base stations to offer their brand of internet access right across Bangladesh. Initially QUBEE is starting in Dhaka, but quickly plan to do the same in cities nationwide. To build a network like this needs to be done properly. So the company gathered a highly talented team right here in Bangladesh to build a company that’s determined to improve the internet experience for millions of people – not just here, but ultimately all over the world.
With a reported target of 6 cities and 40 towns, QUBEE has major plans for the expansion of its WIMAX services in Bangladesh. We conduct sales-support strategy for WiMAX. QUBEE engineers check each installation, to make sure customer have network coverage before they sell the product. Apart from being the first to launch 4G, we brought the first Pre Pay Internet in Bangladesh and we are the first to provide wireless broadband at less than 500 Taka. More than 150,000 QUBEE users consume over 20% of total bandwidth in Bangladesh. At QUBEE, we are dedicated to continuously provide uninterrupted internet experience using WiMAX technology, which is a latest 4G wireless solution
WIMAX
WiMAX (Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access) is designed to deliver next-generation, high-speed mobile voice and data services and wireless “last-mile” backhaul connections that could potentially displace a great deal of existing radio air network (RAN) infrastructure. For network providers, this will enable an expansive array of multimedia and real-time subscriber services that go well beyond current 2.5/3G applications, including mobile streaming media services, mobile TV, Unified Communications, and Voice over IP (VoIP), which, for the first time, becomes practical and viable on a metro-wide scale through WiMAX. Network service providers can’t take full advantage of mobile voice and multimedia over IP unless there is the potential to manage Quality of Service (QoS). With this in mind, five distinct classes of service quality have been built into WiMAX, allowing a more robust and resilient connection for users who require time-sensitive applications and service level agreements (SLAs). WiMAX can offer a large wireless access network footprint to subscribers (similar to data-enabled cellular services such as UMTS/CDMA), while at the same time providing higher throughputs that are similar to WLAN networks. With its large footprint, high access speeds, built-in QoS and SLA capabilities, WiMAX is an ideal access network for next-generation converged voice and data services and streaming wireless multimedia.

USES OF WIMAX
The bandwidth and range of WiMAX make it suitable for the following potential applications: * Connecting Wi-Fi hotspots to the Internet. * Providing a wireless alternative to cable and DSL for "last mile" broadband access. * Providing data and telecommunications services. * Providing a source of Internet connectivity as part of a business continuity plan. That is, if a business has a fixed and a wireless Internet connection, especially from unrelated providers, they are unlikely to be affected by the same service outage. * Providing portable connectivity.

Vision of QUBEE The internet is one of the most liberating, exciting features of life in the 21st century. Whatever into – music, news, views, video, information, chat, contact, search, for business, pleasure or education – we think the customer should be able to enjoy continuous access to it, wherever you are, whenever customer want. The internet has become an essential part of everyday life in the developed world. It's extraordinary to see the impact of the web in Western Europe and North America and it is difficult to imagine life without it. However, the 'World Wide Web' is a misleading term. The internet has only a fledgling presence in developing nations. Internet usage, as a percentage of the population in countries such as Morocco, India, Indonesia, Pakistan and Nigeria ranges between 4 to 24%, well below the levels of developed countries. Research shows that in many emerging markets less than half of household PCs have internet access.

QUBEE will deliver access that is based on three fundamental tenets. Broadband that is: * Available: A broadband network which is available wherever the customers want. * Affordable: Access that is broadly in line with a consumer's $10 per month and a business' $20 per month average budget. * Accessible: Customers can access top-up facilities within a convenient distance of the places where they live and work.

Augere believes that delivering the above is achievable by developing strong local partnerships and building companies with empowered local management.

Mission of QUBEE

We are just not making the internet work; we’re making it work beautifully. And now it can be yours to enjoy.

SWOT Analysis

This is a tool that identifies the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats of an organization. Specifically, SWOT is a basic, straightforward model that assesses what an organization can and cannot do as well as its potential opportunities and threats. The method of SWOT analysis is to take the information from an environmental analysis and separate it into internal (strengths and weaknesses) and external issues (opportunities and threats). Once this is completed, SWOT analysis determines what may assist the firm in accomplishing its objectives, and what obstacles must be overcome or minimized to achieve desired results. When using SWOT analysis, be realistic about the strengths and weaknesses of your organization. Distinguish between where your organization is today, and where it could be in the future. Also remember to be specific by avoiding gray areas and always analyze in relation to the competition (i.e. are you better or worse than competition?). Finally, keep your SWOT analysis short and simple, and avoid complexity and over-analysis since much of the information is subjective. Thus, use it as a guide and not a prescription.
