The results on my personality spectrum and competency results were by no means a surprise. I feel that I use these strengths every day in my current job as a teacher’s assistant by helping other students learn about organizing thoughts/ ideas into written work, taking the initiative even simply by raising a hand to find how to start, and finally I am able to teach persuading by giving my student situations to learn how to negotiate in.
Some things that I still need to work on is my organization. Even though I know that I am good at organizing I feel that it slows me down to the point that I get so caught up in the organizing of my work that combined with the amount of time it takes me to get an assignment done I feel I spent the whole day doing one task. I need to learn about organizing time rather than just the materials needed to do the work. I would have thought this would come easier to me what with experience of coordinating whole weekends for my kids enjoyment, meals, and own school work. Skipping ahead as far as collaborative work I think that my idea in finding ways to get my organizational skills to help me with time is a collaboration of two ideas that I need to make work as one. If I can get down time, organization (like management), then I think the ability to lead in a project will look and feel more natural and that will increase the likelihood in successfully helping others.
My whole adulthood I have wanted to work in the social sciences so it came as no surprise but great relief to see that is where I should be looking. It really is helping me keep grounded in knowing what I want to do career wise as well as giving me that extra boost to keep doing my work knowing I am on the right path. The last two points I think will fit in with this idea nicely because it is not only asking what will make a person into
