...Research Proposal on HIV Posted at: February 9, 2010 under: Sample Research Proposals by admin @ 7:04 am Problem Twenty years ago, the subject of HIV (human immunodeficiency virus), which has been found to be the cause of AIDS (acquired immunodeficiency syndrome), would not have been the topic of a major and serious worldwide catastrophe. Twenty years ago, people were not phased by the effects that would be caused by this ever so populating disease, and no one would have ever realized that this disease would not be curable or helped without expensive medicine. Like a simple exponential growth equation, the AIDS virus has increased victim numbers by about forty million all over the world. AIDS has also shown that it is not discriminating; it has infected all races and all heritages. The AIDS crisis extends far beyond its death toll, because more than seventy percent of the thirty-six million people with HIV/AIDS live in sub-Saharan Africa. Last year alone, the disease killed 1.5 million people in Africa. One third of these victims are between the ages of ten and twenty-four. The disease has been described as a development crisis; it is profoundly disrupting the economic and social bases of families and entire nations at a rate of infection at 16,000 per day. Without immediate action, AIDS will surpass the effect of the Black Plague that killed forty million people in the late fourteenth century. It is estimated that only ten percent of the death that this disease...

...the project but it will mainly focus on the actions and reactions of Mr. Allison, and what steps he could have taken to result in a different outcome for the project. Gary’s lack of management experience and lack of ethical judgement led to a failed project mission, which could have been easily avoided. Introduction The Orion Shield Project has the mission to improve the structural capabilities of NASA’s Shuttle Launch booster by 3 years. Research found that the Booster showed signs of fatigue failure after six years in the field, where as the desired and originally specified time was nine years. This project was by NASA to find/create new materials that can support a longer life in the field for the Shuttle Launch Booster. Since the DoD/NASA contracting criteria changed recently, companies that win the Research and Development (R&D) and Qualification phases of a program, are proposed to have a competitive edge when the Production contract is finally awarded, the SEC decided to employ a new company strategy, to bid on the Research and Development phase of a program. As a result, the SEC competed for a subcontract for the R&D Phase I of the...

...Sample Proposals Typical Approach Proposals can vary a great deal, and we’ve provided examples that cover the range from formal contracts to informal letters of agreement. However, all were based upon previously-established conceptual agreement, and all provide a single fee for the project (or for each choice of yeses). The normal framework for the value pricing proposal should encompass this basic sequence: Situation Appraisal: Summarize and reconfirm the conceptual agreement concerning the condition to be improved and the desired state. Objectives: The outcomes expected, both tangible and intangible, quantifiable and non-quantifiable. These should be expressed in terms of impact on the client’s business, and sometimes are expressed again in the “values” category, if used. Value: Either clearly stated or implied through buyer conversations, what is the value of achieving the objectives. This sometimes appears in the “objectives” category. Metrics: How will the client evaluate success? What are the indicators that the objectives have been met? Simply stated: How would clients know it if they fell over it? Timing: Projects are finite. When do we begin, when do we end, and are there progress measures in between? Accountabilities: What is the client expected to provide (documents, access, administrative support) and what do we provide (focus group facilitation, product, reports)? What is the nature of the collaboration? Credentials (optional): Why is Zenger...

...business, initiating a new business together, for joint ventures, and other reasons. Communication is extremely important for businesses that work in the virtual environment. The communication process includes the environment where the message takes place, the sender, the message that is created, technology used to send the message, noise, the receiver of the message, and the feedback that is returned. This paper will be analyzing three business-to-business messages using the communication process. The analysis should also include a descriptive explanation of characteristics that would improve the messages, including whether the message and technology were appropriate given the environment and purpose. A business-to-business message will be written to ABC Company asking to create a working relationship with XYZ Company; and write an unfavorable reply message to ABC Company. Analyzing Messages Businesses used different methods of communication when communicating with other businesses such as email, letters, memos, and proposals. The three messages that will be analyzed are going to be a business proposal, an invitation and recognition from other business. According to "Wisegeek" (2003-2011), “a business proposal is a written proposal presented from a vendor that is intended to elicit business from a prospective buyer” (What is a Business Proposal?). ...Compensation and Benefits Plan Companies welcome employees to their organizations through job proposals that should set the tone for a good working relationship. Companies spend tremendous amount of time and resources seeking and attracting high quality talent and people who will hopefully contribute to the long-term success and future growth of the organization. Compensation and benefit packages can be strategic tools that reflect an organization’s commitment to the employee. They should be designed to meet the candidate’s needs and expectations to ensure acceptance. This paper represents a job proposal created by our team for the position of Senior Reliability Engineer at Medtronic, Inc. Various resources and websites were utilized to create a competitive package consistent with Medtronic’s high standards and company policies. Our team included justification of the chosen strategy and also identified potential obstacles and forms of resistance that could impede implementation of the package being offered. Background and Mission of Medtronic, Inc. Medtronic, Inc. was founded in 1949 as a medical equipment repair shop and has grown into a multinational company that has transformed the way debilitating, chronic diseases are treated (Medtronic, 2012). Its mission is to contribute to the human welfare through application of biomedical engineering in the research, design, manufacture, and sale of instruments or appliances that alleviate pain, restore health, and extend...

...states that impacts the delivery of human services is requiring mandatory drug testing to be done for those who receive welfare from the government. States have proposed drug testing of applicants and recipients of public welfare benefits since federal welfare reform in 1996. It began to pick up speed in 2011. At least 18 states introduced proposals or had carryover bills that would require drug screening or testing for public assistance applicants and/or recipients in 2014.This has actually passed in some states, but it has been difficult for some to pass this. Unsurprisingly, there is an outrage by those who receive welfare. There are those that say that if you can be drug tested for a job, you should for welfare because you are still receiving money, like you would in a job. I think that the most reliable resource available to learn more about the implications of this law would be by reading the proposed legislation. Being aware of what is being done and said will highly help. Just standing on the sidelines and not actually acting is what can make the effects worse by doing nothing. Also, by having a meeting or some type of communication between the head of the organization and the senator that is proposing this legislation to help clarify any issues and even help to improve on the legislation that is being proposed. Other reliable resources could be other agencies that have dealt with similar laws in their areas, and how they coped with implementing this if it does pass...
