GLOBALIZACION AND BUSSINESS CULTURE
Basically this video shows us how we can be able to be successful in a business how to communicate with other people around the world, how to be intelligently on making new partner and how to run your own business.
It shows how Japanese culture is successful with their own businesses, an idea they implemented was suggestion box for their employees, they got the chance to speak for them self and the head quarter listen to them and took notes on those suggestion to see what areas were needed to be improve. It is really good when a boss takes time to listen to and hear what time of ideas you have in mind, since basically the own employees are the ones that are down there making the job and are able to see much better what is going on.
Also the Indian culture they are really dedicated to their work they’re the ones that can improve our technology base on their intelligence not saying that other culture can’t but they have been the leading culture on technology base on the video. They also work with really close friends and hang out with people of their own interest so they can be able to share ideas.
Many countries try to imitate japan such as kores, Korea is a very intelligent country they build relationships with other countries so they can grow as a company in Korea they are really loyal people they respect their jobs and take it really it real serious. They will respect their boss as if they were in the military, and over the time they

...Effects of Globalization and Institutional Forces on International HRM Practice: Illuminating the ConvergenceDivergence Debate By Yongsun Paik Irene Hau-Siu Chow Charles M. Vance In the face of globalization, scholars continue to debate about whether a convergence in human resources practices will prevail, or a trend of divergence perspective will persist. Building on institution theory, this article helps to explicate this debate by examining how globalization may interact with different dimensions of local institutional forces to lead to convergence, divergence, or crossvergence Correspondence to: Yongsun Paik, PhD, Professor of International Business & Management, Department of Management, Hilton Center for Business, Loyola Marymount university, One LMu Dr., Los angeles, Ca 90045-2659, 310.338.7402 (phone), 310.338.3000 (fax), yspaik@lmu.edu. ...Consumer Culture is a beguiling illusion that completely glosses over the hard realities of national, ethnic and religious differences. It is therefore a dangerous fiction for the marketing manager to engage with.” Discuss, with examples. Introduction Globalization has made a more variety of products available for all consumers. In this sense, globalization increases differences, rather than generate homogenization (Lee & Usunier, 2009). Moreover, global influences are adapted to local circumstances; therefore, globalization results in an increasingly cultural diversity. The existence of a global consumer culture does not imply the disappearance of differences; rather, the modern culture results in the sum of these differences (Arnett, 2002). Global consumer culture (GCC) is a new stratum of common culture that superimpose on national cultures (Lee and Usunier, 2009) in the same way in which these overlap local traditions and subcultures existing within national boundaries, given the fact that most countries are already multicultural (Smith, 1991). Notably, it has been argued that culture is the most influential factor on consumer behaviour (Cleveland and Laroche, 2007); consequently, it is important to define the extent to which a modern global culture determine purchasing decisions, and these insights should inform marketing strategies. Therefore, the question is whether a GCC does exist, in which sense it should be interpreted, and how it does affect national cultures and consumers’...

Identify and Critically Evaluate Four Variables That Account for the Emergence of International Business.

...Identify and critically evaluate four variables that account for the emergence of international business. International Business, which is the other way to seek an opportunity of brand new markets and a better driver of changing the recent environment (Ramirez-Aleson & Espitia-Escuer, 2001). It is thought as a business or industry that attracts and provides in international economic activities (Peng, 2011). From the views of domestic and international industries, the former competes and collaborates with the foreign entrants, the latter enters an aboard market to get the market share for growing itself up. Peng (2011) argues that International Business includes both international activities and domestic activities. The traditional boundaries of international and domestic business are deliberated blurring, because most of the previously national markets are globalized now. Mention to the current situation about International Business, it is essential to understand what and how International Business is emerged. The variables of why International Business happened have been defined by scholars, first of all, Dunning (2001) believes competitive advantages are quite important to help corporations extend their business. Second, Johnson & Tuner (2003) indicates five drivers of International Business, that are Economy, International governance and regulation, Finance and capital, Communication technology, Social and cultural convergence, etc. Additionally, Huang (2005) and...

...Globalization Effects on Culture, Business Ethics, and Leadership: A Managerial View Introduction The world’s economy has developed and changed dramatically throughout the years and continues to do so. We are quickly moving away from a world where each country’s economy is isolated and more towards a world with an interdependent global economic system. This interdependent global economic system is commonly referred to as globalization (Saee 2005). The book written by John Saee, Managing Organizations in a Global Economy: An Intercultural Perspective, suggests that the growth of global trade, cross-border investments, mass migration, large-scale tourism, and much more has turned the world into more of a “global village” (Saee 2005). While globalization has effected nearly every aspect of human civilization, it has created some very serious concerns for managers whose organizations and firms already are or are planning to be involved in business transactions that take place outside of their domestic environment. If companies and corporations want to be successful in today’s economy, then it is important for managers to have a thorough knowledge and understanding of different types of cultures, business ethics, and ways of leadership, and the implications that these differences will have on their businesses. In this paper, we will discuss the effects that globalization has had on managers with respect to culture, business ethics, and leadership. Culture Globalization...

The Glocal Strategy Og Global Brands

...Studies in Business and Economics THE GLOCAL STRATEGY OF GLOBAL BRANDS DUMITRESCU Luigi Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu, Romania VINEREAN Simona Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu, Romania Abstract: A few years ago, globalization was the new paradigm in international business, however from a branding perspective it has lost its initial efficiency giving the fact that consumers do not seem to feel a connection anymore with the standardized products of global corporations, catered to them in mass marketing communication programs. With their centralized decision making, most companies simply stopped having a connection with the new global marketplace and neglected its emergence. Hence, the influence of local characteristics arose, and with that a new term that encapsulates the global and the local – glocal. “Glocalization” encourages companies to “think global, act local”, and they could do so by using the global brand, while localizing certain elements of that brand in order to suit a particular country. Keywords: global brands, globalization, glocal strategy, glocal marketing. 1. Introduction In 1983, Theodore Levitt published a provocative Harvard Business Review article entitled “The Globalization of Markets”, in which he stated that a new global market, based on uniform products and services, had emerged. He asserted that large scale companies have stopped emphasizing on the customization of their offers to providing globally standardized products that are advanced...

Globalization

...Executive Summary The new version of globalization sees the trans- and multinational companies being the major players guided by the policies and treaties of the oversight international organizations and supported by technology. Given that the focus continues to be cross border trade, integration and investment, in the absence of any communal decision making process with defined criteria, it has been clear that globalization continues to be challenged with respect to ethical decision making for sustainable development. This paper summarizes the role and function of the major globalization oversight organizations and touches on the extent of the power that they wield. It briefly discusses the advantages and disadvantages of globalization and attempts to identify the goals of globalization and given these goals and the identification of the stakeholders and subsequently to evaluate whether or not it is a driver or barrier to ethical decision making and sustainable development.   ‘Ethics is more than the right thing to do: it's the smart thing to do.’ Global Institute of Ethics 1.0 Introduction It appears to be no easy feat to get a precise definition for Globalization. The definition can range from that of Nobel prize-winning economist Joseph Stiglitz who defined it as “the closer integration of the countries and peoples of the world which has been brought about by the enormous reduction of costs of transportation and communication...

Globalization and You

...Globalization And Your Business, Community and You Indiana Wesleyan University Globalization is becoming a buzzword in today’s society but what does it really mean in affects to your community, business and you personally? Globalization merges are economies social interactions, and cultures together making the world interdependent on one another. The importance of viewing the world as a whole and less as a sovereign of nations is becoming more evident as cultures blur, economies blend and the people are subject to the diversification of interacting with others whose traditions, beliefs and ethical views vary from our own. Recently, I asked two individuals, Doyle and Todd, to discuss their views of how globalization as touched their community, business and them personally. They have also expressed their view of whether these impacts have been positive, negative, or a combination. While globalization touches almost every one, the distribution channels are uneven in concentration with the heavier industrialized nations being harder hit. There was mixed reviews on globalization and its impact with my interviewees. Doyle, whose community is immersed in the steel industry, views the overall effects as negative. Low prices seem to be the driving force due to this market’s competitive environment where price is dominant over product features. Also, the U.S. industries find it hard to compete when foreign governments subsidies steelmaking, have less concern over the environment...

Global Finance

...Global Finance EnvironmentThis paper will analyze the drivers and consequences of globalization, describe the risks associated with global investing, and explain the importance of cultural sensitivity and ethics in global finance. However, there first must be an understanding of what globalization entails. Globalization is the expansion of companies and entities into the international market; working, manufacturing, and selling or buying from two or more countries. Companies that sell to other countries or buy from other countries are not a good example, but those that have investment, manufacturing, or other divisions of the company in another country is definitely globalization. Drivers of GlobalizationMany drivers of globalization affect an organization financially. Improvements in communication and transportation such as internet, emails, mobile phones, formation of trading blocs, depletion of trade restrictions and creating of new trade agreements among nations, comparative and competitive advantage being offered by certain nations and markets are all driving globalization and increasing trade among nations. Today, countries are increasingly becoming dependent on each other and companies are making a foray into global markets, either to increase their sales or to achieve comparative advantage in terms of production and thus satisfying the needs and wants of ever increasing demands of customers. These changes are increasing the resource requirements of global corporations...

...Globalization is necessary in the world. Different theories on the concept of globalization provide distinct reasons on the need for globalization. The world’s advancements and technology help drive the need for globalization. Business Ethics Across Cultures Article Review

...Business Ethics Across Cultures Article Review Ken R. Johnson XMGT 216 May 27, 2012 Instructor: Deborah McCafferty Business Ethics Across Cultures Article Review Globalization has been an ongoing event for many centuries; ever since the first traders and merchants sought out other countries to bring back uniquely different food and goods, countries have been sharing their culture and perspectives with those they visit or those that come to their borders. Today, with the widespread use of Internet, digital information, and focus on international business, the positive effect of globalization is much more apparent as well as the challenges it presents to countries with different ethical cultures. While most would assume that people in another land speaking a different language, following a different religion, and eating different food would more than likely perceive and behave differently from than our own; the truth is that even though these differences may be perceived, very little is done to actually understand them appropriately unless it is deemed necessary. However, what is quickly becoming equally apparent, for international businesses and corporations to deal successfully with a foreign contractor, business, or even government; the proper measures must be taken to understand the differences in ethical perception and to work to accommodate those differences. Failure to do so leave many of these companies and businesses...

Intro

...1.0 INTRODUCTION 1.1 GLOBALIZATION Globalization carries many perspectives, e.g. globalization of travel, tourism, trade or economy. “ Short and Kim (1999 ) see globalization as the stretching of activities across the globe. Shaw and Williams (2002) regard the globalization phenomenon as a spatial widening of the linkages between places, leading to the internationalization of cultures, global flows of goods and services and increased competition. According to Cooper et al (1998), the crux of globalization is in the increase in world-wide business and trade between multi-national and trans-national corporations, irrespective of their geographical locations.” [ Mpofu : JBAS Vol. 1, No. 2, Sept. 2009 ]. Understanding it in an economic sense, globalization renders world-wide scope to changes in the Political, Economic, Social, Technological, Environmental and Legal ( PESTEL ) domains of national governments, resulting in increased inter-dependence amongst nation-states, inter-action and integration between peoples, and ease of conduct of business across geographically spread countries. In creating competitive environments and bringing about reciprocal benefits, nation-states co-operate in facilitating ease of travel, lifting trade barriers for movement of goods and services, facilitating conducive environments for conduct of business, easing entry-exit laws on legal movement of people across national boundaries, and embracing international labour-related laws to tap...

Business Ethich and Global Dimension

...An Article On Business Ethics and Global Dimension of Business Business Ethics and Global Dimension of Business October 19, 2014 Ethical issues have been around for a long time and its association with globalization has been documented. The effects on the association with globalization are similar and closely related to that of international marketing. As a result, the increased globalization over the years has brought an increase in many problems associated with global trading including ethical ones. (WTO, 2011). As indicated by World Trade organization in 2011, there was significant expansion in world trade from 1950 to 2000. This increase was documented to be over twenty-fold with foreign direct investment and exports playing a significant role. This increase in world trade in the middle to late 20th century also saw small businesses increasing their investments in cross border trading. This resulted in an increase in the average yearly outflow of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) from about $25 billion in 1975 to a record $1.3 trillion in 2000. (UN, 2001). This means that there were a great number of business people with different social and cultural backgrounds doing business in other areas of different geographical, political, legal, social and cultural environments. The challenges that confronted these business people working in these different environments with its associated social and cultural problems created a platform for indulgence in ethical problems and other...
