As we continue to hear about Pink’s journey we come to the start of his rock star career ultimately leading to his abuse of drugs. He creates a new look for himself by becoming a rock star, but he still feels lonesome. He is sick and tired of the depressive thoughts and no one cares. He sees a doctor who prescribes him medication just to shut him up. He has become “comfortably numb” with the pain he is feeling. He continues the drug use to get on with life, continuing to go on with the show. No one cares about the pain he is feeling, only that he makes his fans happy by doing the show at any cost. After the gig, Pink is still in a crazed drug like state as he is running away from his emotions. From the song “Run Like Hell” one might assume he is running away from the police, but it is sung “and keep your dirty feelings deep inside”. This provides evidence that deep inside he feels that emotions, and human nature is a part of life he does not want to be a part of. At first the judge says that Pink showing emotions will not be allowed, like a law that he had broken. Pink tells the judge that the wall he had build must have been incomplete because emotions had come in which he explains is why he is claiming he is crazy. The judge, his conscience, tells Pink that he has made others suffer because of his isolation. The judge reviews his sentence to Pink that he must “be exposed”. The judge yells “Tear down the wall!”. Tearing down the wall is extremely symbolic because Pink has made the decision to expose himself to emotions, to society, most importantly. “Outside The Wall” has a moral of that even though there are social barriers such as fear, and isolation, it was Pink who made the decision to tear down the wall that separated him from feeling free from his
