Neil Degrasse Tyson is widely known and respected for his intelligence. These factors bring credibility to his ideas of basic thinking and knowledge. In his speech, Tyson was trying to convey the message of allowing yourself to deepen your thinking without doubt. This means being unbothered by norms and letting yourself reach below the surface and think in ways that are unconventional. He advises us to think freely, rather than confining ourselves to right and wrong answers.
