RELATÓRIO DE VISITA TÉCNICA À RIVIERA DE SÃO LOURENÇO

Relatório apresentado à disciplina de
Linguagem, Trabalho e Tecnologia, sob orientação da professora Lucinda.

SANTOS
2014

Hotel-Mngement

...Hotels I Love: Rosewood Mayakoba, Mexico Larry Olmsted ,    CONTRIBUTOR I travel to learn, eat, golf and ski, but mostly for travel’s sake   Opinions expressed by Forbes Contributors are their own. I firmly believe that Mexico’s Riviera Maya (or Mayan Riviera), is one of the world’s great travel destinations. I have been to the region many times, and stayed in a lot of different resorts, and I think the best luxury hotel is the Rosewood Mayakoba. For readers unfamiliar with this recurring column, here is the three sentence lowdown: I travel a great deal and stay in many exceptional hotels worldwide, but only the very best make the cut for Hotels I Love. In almost every case these are properties I have visited multiple times over a period of years, so I know great service was not a fluke. It’s not “Hotels I Like,” or even “Hotels I Really Like,” and I only manage to find a few each year that qualify – they have to be that good. With most of the country caught in an exceptionally bitter winter of much lower than normal temperatures and storm after storm, sunny Mexico has never looked better. But the Riviera Maya, on the east coast of the Yucatan Peninsula, is especially appealing, and truly offers something for every taste. This 80-mile stretch of gorgeous coastline is situated immediately south of the excellent and easy to reach Cancun airport, away from often tacky Cancun itself, stretching south to the world famous ancient ruins of Tulum – the only Mayan city built on...

Driving W/Out a Dl in 1985

...“What Happened to the Monte-Carlo?” Ruth Grey ENC 1101 – Composition 1 February 10, 2010 What Happened to the Monte-Carlo? It was a sunny; warmth summer day, the sky was baby blue with the features of creamy white soft clouds. With the cool breeze blowing softly, the day was innocently inviting, so I went out for a ride. Father and dominant brothers were in the drive-way, worked strenuously on father’s broken red truck. “Oh shoot! What am I going to do now?” I silently questioned myself with one eyebrow slightly upwards. “How am I going to get to the Monte Carlo.?” I kept talking to myself as I tried to think of some tactic, to get pass father and brothers, to get to the monte carlo, parked on the street. “Where do you think, you’re going young lady?” My father asked as I was too focused on getting into the shining brown Monte Carlo. “Ahhhh! I’m getting Mama some ice cream.” The voice belonged to me as I hopped into the interior of the Monte carol and made my way to the store. That day, I was going north on Atlantic Ave in Long Beach, through a heavy street traffic. With music blasting as I yelled sang my lungs out, it was another typical short ride to the store. To ignore the fear of my father’s voice, when I cruised off the house, I went fast, too fast passing numerous cars, despite of the busy traffic as I drove down on Atlantic Ave towards my destination. One quick second, that’s all it takes for everything to go right or wrong. My dark brown eyes opened...

The Great Gatsby Character Analysis

...F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby is a great American novel, which criticizes wealth in the American dream. Nick Carraway is the narrator who observes characters such as Gatsby, Daisy, and Tom primarily. Jay Gatsby wants the perfect American dream. He has worked most of his life to get the fame and wealth that will impress Daisy Buchanan. Daisy is his love. In Gatsby’s mind, she is the only girl for him. He is so in love with everything about her. Daisy, however, refuses to accept her love for Gatsby and ultimately chooses Tom in the end. Tom Buchanan is an arrogant jerk who cannot seem to relive his glory days as an elite football player. He tries to feel this void with mistresses, one being Myrtle Wilson. Myrtle wants the life that Daisy has. She wants Tom and the wealth and everything that comes with that lifestyle. In The Great Gatsby, Fitzgerald criticizes his characters Daisy, Myrtle, and Gatsby, who all allow wealth to corrupt their dream because they think money can grant them anything their hearts desire. Fitzgerald criticizes the aspect of the American dream that having security in which money can provide does not compensate for the character’s life choices. In the novel, Gatsby desires unrealistic dreams of having the house, the car, and the children with Daisy. He has always wanted her ever since he saw her house. This house plays a big role in his fantasy of the real reason why he loves Daisy. He loves her house and her money and her life, but not so much her...

Significance Of Green Light In The Great Gatsby

...F. Scott Fitzgerald wrote the novel The Great Gatsby in 1922. This novel tells the story of Jay Gatsby in Nick Carraway point of view. Fitzgerald used the green light as a symbolism of dreams and hopes to show its significance in the novel. The green light is important in the novel, for it is used as the American Dream for Jay Gatsby. For example, the text states, “he stretched out his arms toward the dark water in a curious way, and, far as I was from him, I could have sworn he was trembling. Involuntarily I glanced seaward — and distinguished nothing except a single green light, minute and far away, that might have been the end of a dock. k. When I looked once more for Gatsby he had vanished, and I was alone again in the unquiet darkness.” In these quotes, Jay Gatsby is standing on his lawn with his arms stretched out toward the dark water;” however, as soon as Gatsby disappears, Nick is alone in “darkness.” Later on in the story, the readers find out that the green light Nick saw Gatsby gazing at marks the end of Daisy's dock. Gatsby is in love with Daisy and has done things to try to win her heart such as buying a mansion near her. Therefore, this “green light” represents his dream of meeting Daisy once again and having a future together. The green light is only a green light to others such as Nick, but to Gatsby, it calls him in the night to remind him of his dreams. This light is always there for Gatsby, for he is constantly pursuing this dream. Conversely, Nick only sees...

The Great Gatsby Transformation

...At a young age, Gatsby separates himself from his family and dedicates his life towards becoming wealthy and gaining social status. To erase his history as the poor son of farmers, seventeen-year-old Gatsby changes his name from James Gatz to Jay Gatsby. Following the changing of his name, Gatsby disassociates himself from every aspect of his past and later attempts to convince other people that he inherited his money and went to a prestigious school, and “to this conception he was faithful to the end” (98). In reality, Gatsby attends “a small Lutheran college of St. Olaf in southern Minnesota,” where he has to work as a janitor to pay his tuition. He begins doing various jobs for a millionaire man named Dan Cody, who becomes Gatsby’s mentor. Seeing Dan Cody on his yacht inspires Gatsby to consider the possibility of becoming a member of high society. The yacht “represented all the beauty and glamour in the world” (100) to Gatsby. Through Dan Cody, Gatsby experiences the life of the upper class, and he decides that he wants to have a life exactly like that. When Dan Cody dies, he leaves Gatsby an inheritance, but Gatsby never receives it. Determined to acquire money another way, Gatsby takes part in illegal business. His natural ambition allows him to quickly become successful. With his money, Gatsby buys a house in West Egg and hosts extravagant parties in an attempt to gain popularity. In the initial period, it provided to transmit music, and permanent residents, and advertisements to the Anglophone community in the initial Riviera. Nevertheless, it had met several problems. At first, a variety of people, jobs, and lifestyle: The signal from Italian across Monaco to French and there are over 120 nationalities in there, how can it cater for everyone's flavors? Another problem is advertisers: for RR(Riviera Radio), the most important part of money is for advertisers. It needed to find ways to disinter more clients and advertisers. Furthermore, he provided both female voices to the prime time slot in order to retrieve their female clients. Another orientation is that he tried to increase the listeners of Russian because he found that Russian consumption is a huge part of the industry's revenue Monaco. The last is about the...

Cars

...Restoration is an expensive proposition. Even if you can perform most of the work yourself, it's still going to cost you a tidy five-figure sum to buy the necessary parts, materials and paint supplies needed to transform an old car from a worn-out relic to a dazzling show beauty. If you've decided to restore a particular old car because you have a longstanding attachment to that model and are not concerned about its value or whether parts can be easily found, then we applaud you--that mindset should be the primary focus of this great hobby of ours. However, if you enjoy old car restoration but prefer your projects to be easy and relatively cheap to do--with, perhaps, the added bonus of making a few dollars on it when it's done--then these are the cars you should consider for your next venture. Of course, the majority of these cars won't make you stand apart from the crowd at a show or cruise-in, but you will be able to complete their restoration far faster and a whole lot cheaper than if you chose a car that was rare, or had only been made for a few years. Another factor to consider is the actual purchase price of the car. While some of the cars listed here can be bought for around $5,000, others will cost four times as much even if they're basket cases--but keep in mind that those higher-priced cars will also bring four times the money when sold, so it kind of equals out. But the one common feature enjoyed by most of these cars--and the main reason why they...
