The author and lecturer both discussed about Rococo artists and their work, however they dont present the same opinion about their art, rather they have opposite opinions about them. On one side where the passage condemns the Rocoo artists by targeting them as artists for wealthy only, choosing superficial subject matters and creating art gaudy art work, lecturer counters each point by providing explanation about how unique, sensitive and impressive their art was.
Coming to the first point, the author suggests that since Rocoo artists were mainly creating art for wealthy and represented arrgance, their art was not meant for normal people and hence was not appreciated during the times of revolution, when everyone was emphasizing on social equality.
