Although abortion is legal in the state of Texas, doctors should exercise their rights to not take part in abortions. Legal and Moral Stance of Abortion Abortion is a very touchy subject, not only here in Texas, but pretty much everywhere. Some will say it is moral, some will say it is immoral. As a healthcare provider, I feel abortion is immoral all the way, and that even though it is legal here in the state of Texas, it should be illegal. If I were actually a healthcare provider, this could potentially create challenges in a healthcare setting. Although the amount of abortions has decreased during the 1990s, there are still about 1.2 million legal abortions each year (Fremgen, 2012). Here in Texas, three very significant laws have been passed since Roe vs. Wade.
