Common personal conditions is stress. Stress is a common element in the lives of every individual, regardless of race or cultural background (Garrett, 2007).

It is always present among individuals. Stress produces a physical reaction in the body that can make it harder to focus, sleep, and do well academically. Recurrent physical and psychological stress can diminish self-esteem, decrease interpersonal and academic effectiveness, and create a cycle of self-blame and self-doubt. For us students, we are usually experiencing stress whenever our projects are given by our professors at the same time, difficult lessons, home works, family problems, etc.

Compensatory reactions occur to ensure the muscles and vital organs have an ample supply of oxygen, energy and nutrients to handle the challenging situation (Nathan, 2008). In addition, Nathan (2008) also states that prolonged and severe stress may be psychologically damaging in that it may hinder a person's ability to engage in effective behavior.

Some personal conditions are disability of a person. Problems with visual and auditory processing, memory, and attention are associated with academic achievement problems. Difficulties in listening, speaking, reading comprehension, word recognition, spelling, and writing all comprise the more general category of language disorders.

Dyslexia is a subcategory found within a specific population of individuals with learning disabilities. It is believed to be caused by neurological differences within the brain (Kirk, Gallagher & Anastasiow, 2007).

Students with physical illnesses or disabilities are at risk for being underachievers when their impairment results in limitations on physical and cognitive abilities, or results in limited school attendance and decreased oppurtunity for school success (Bloch, 2007; Perrin and Gerrity, 2008).
