I have always been a firm believer in everything happens for a reason. Over the past 5 years dance has transfigured my entire outlook on life. It has been the backbone and un-denying support for all the changes I have faced both positively and negatively. When I went to go take my first “hip hop” class and found out it was jazz, I was very embarrassed. I remember thinking to myself “boys don’t dance like that”, but of course it didn’t take me very long to fall in love. When dance became more prominent in my life I took on the challenge of teaching and choreographing. Being put in this position was very intimidating, especially when working with dancers sometimes my own age, but I was more than ready to accept the challenge.…show more content… While the solo I choreographed was a major success in competitions, it was also a major success in the studio. Working with her on her solo I noticed so many changes in her level of confidence which she thanked me for bringing out in her. She told me my passion for dance and eagerness to constantly improve pushed her and made her want to work harder, that was the biggest win for me. I later learned that my love for dance was becoming infectious to everyone around me in the studio and hearing that was so special. Being put in the position to teach and choreograph has also made me a better student and given me a deeper understanding on dance overall.
