...Saved By the Bell: The College years is an inaccurate portrayal of college because of it is responsibilities , class attendance , but their social problems are relatable. Saved By the Bell: The College years is a spin off from Saved By the Bell. The show follows the adult lives of Zack Morris, A.C. Slater, Screech Powers, Leslie Burke , Alex Tabor and Kelly Kapowski. The show is based on the cast lives after high school transitioning into college. It takes place at California University. The characters are shown going through different adult – hood like problems , while tackling them ahead , and juggling their school work all at once. The actors in the show made having no responsibilities look fun in college. In season one episode fifteen the show starts off with Zack debating with the other cast- mates if throwing a rave is something that he should do. Zack continues to contemplate back and forth rather if he should throw a rave or sacrifice himself being kicked out of college for not following the rules. Ultimately Zack throws the rave instead. In the end Zach rave was busted by his teacher Professor Lasky and Dean Susan McMann. Not only did he not face the consequences but his Professor was on his side to get him out of trouble , because he “loved to drive that woman crazy” , said Professor Lasky. This is inaccurate in reality ; because throwing a rave is illegal. Not only could I face jail time but...

...home. Due to such craze, fast food restaurants such as Taco Bell, have gained a top position in the industry where customers can have a hot quick meal in a flash or we may say less than five minutes. A case study is done by a reporter who became a Taco Bell employee for a few hours so that he could analyze the queueing model on how customer order processing was done at Taco Bell. The process will review the drive-thru process as well as the process when a customer places an order inside. The purpose of this paper is to analyze, discuss and make suggestions on how Taco Bell can improve its present and future position in the Quick Service restaurant industry. Not only today has Taco Bell been focusing on quick service but ever since “1988, Taco Bell introduced six core-menu items for the reduced price of 59 cents and offered free drink refills. Taco Bell has since continued to change and innovate. Its new strategy meant restructuring the business to become more efficient and cost-effective. To do this, the company relied on an integrated set of operations, research models, including forecasting to predict customer arrivals, simulation to determine the optimum labor required to provide a desired customer service, and optimization to schedule and allocate crew members to minimize the payroll. Through 1997, these models have saved over $53 million in labor costs” (Hueter & Swart 1998). Introduction Taco Bell is a subsidiary of Yum Brand Incorporated, which was founded...

...but they are also energy efficient. They now feature skylights in the dining area and windows in the kitchen as well as energy efficient appliances. These new changes have reduced energy usage by 14 percent per restaurant. Chick-fil-A has also decided to construct new restaurants with materials that do not emit harmful gasses. This means that new restaurants contain 30 percent more fresh air than a typical building. On the other hand, Taco Bell’s restaurants do not contain many water and energy conserving features. Although their restaurants are not very eco-friendly, the company has taken some steps to reduce their restaurant’s energy and water usage. Over 5,600 Taco Bell restaurants nationwide have implemented the grill to order process, which has saved $5,900 a year in electricity per store. Taco Bell has also taken steps to its new sustainability approach by adding healthier options to its new “Fresco Menu”. Recycling is a very important aspect of sustainability, and Chick-fil-A’s cardboard and foam cups used in their everyday operations of the restaurant are being recycled at many of their locations. Chick-fil-A’s foam cups are made out of polystyrene, which can be reused and recycled....

...me at an early in hopes I would imitate these charters actions and how they interacted with others around them. Once reaching an age around four the shows I watched were completely different. The shows I watched were: Fresh Prince of Belair, Saved by the Bell, and Spongebob. All of these shows display a power in balance. All of these shows display a patriarchal society, where women have a one demsianal character. At an early age, I never realized this, because I was watching these shows for entertainment. Now, I see how these shows have socialized me and my peers. Women are portrayed as this prize for being the acme of manhood. This socialized me because for some reason men have to prove themselves to be manly and then receive an attractive woman as a prize. Many movies in todays theaters reinforce this, such as The Wolf of Wall Street. These movies set societal norms. The norm is to be successful I need to make money, and with a lot of money a hot girl is my prize. If I want to do something that will not have a large net income I will be considered deviant, and if I love a girl because of her personality I am deviating. These shows did not just socialize me in these negative ways, actually the Fresh Prince of Belair and Saved by the Bell, were very powerful in socializing me in a positive way. These shows set boundaries, such as when a joke is taken too far, and how to deal with someone you do not like. These shows also taught deviance is accpatble in certain cases. One example...

...Garfield becoming president in the first two parts, then focuses more on his death in parts three and four of her book, and I found what she wrote to be fascinating. The book switched between telling the main events mainly from three people perspectives, which were Alexander G. Bell, Garfield, and Charles Guiteau. I liked that Millard incorporated the perspectives from the men and women that were instrumental in the downfall of Garfield. Her book is inspiring and very well written. Garfield had served in Congress for seventeen years, but had absolutely no interest in being president. When at the Republican National Convention, he was to give a speech to nominate a candidate for the Republican nominee in the presidential race. However, the people voted for him and to his dismay, Garfield became the nominee. As Garfield had no desire to be president, he did not campaign. He did give speeches to the people who showed up to his home, but that was it. Garfield won the election and was sworn in March 4, 1881. Charles Guiteau, the man who assassinated Garfield, was, in short, a lunatic. A few days before Garfield's inauguration, he survived the ship wreck of the Stonington. He believed that God had saved him from death because he was to have a very important purpose. He repeatedly attempted to make an appointment with the president so he may attain an important government position. Guiteau often cheated people out of money, and would stay in boarding houses but leave before payment...

Billy pastored briefly at First Baptist Church in Western Springs, Illinois, before he went on to join Youth for Christ, a group which spoke to young people and veterans about Jesus. In 1947 Billy became the president of Northwestern Schools, a group of Christian schools in Minnesota. A year later he resigned to preach for good. With Billy Grams alluring and fervent sermons it didn’t take long for people to start identifying him. Two years later, 1949, Graham got a call from group called “Christ for Greater Los Angeles” to come to preach at their revival. When Billy was on a radio show, people caught word that he was going to be preaching at the revival and were ecstatic. There...

...debate for people. This is the idea that people may be born one way or they were taught to be this way through their environment. It’s seen as a debate in many cases, but one specifically is the topic of children killers, kids who before they became adults did the unimaginable and killed another person. There are many different examples of this happening and many people say they were born or made this way. Two examples of this are Mary Bell, and Daniel Bartlem. In certain children killer cases there will be rulings saying that they had certain psychological problems, but not in all. The question is then raised, where these kids born this way? Or have they been made to act out this way due to things in their lives? The first example is Mary Bell she was an eleven year old girl, who was originally sentenced to a life sentence in jail. She killed two boys one the age three and the other the age four and said she did it “purely for excitement”. Her mother was a prostitute and said to often not be home, and her father was thought to be Bill Bell who was a criminal charged with armed robber, Mary was born when her mother was only seventeen. It was said that as a kid her mother tried to kill her more than once...

...Another way to look at the relationship between the candidates is to look at Lincoln the victor, in comparison to the other three candidates up for election. Breckinridge, Douglas, and Bell identified more with southern ideals than Lincoln. However Douglas hailed and represented the state of Illinois, the same as Abraham Lincoln. Another argument when comparing them all to the future sixteenth president was their individual resumes were filled with war experience, political hierarchy positions and just more time spent in the political sphere than Lincoln. Breckinridge was the current Vice President at the time and was a Mexican American War veteran. Bell served as a representative for Kentucky in the House, and would later be elected the Speaker...

...proves that the amendment inspired women to get more involved in activities. Several court cases reinforced the equality stated by Title IX. The 1984 Supreme Court case Grove City College v. Bell “ruled that only those programs receiving federal funds must comply with the statute,” so private universities could still remain single sex if they choose. Also, student clubs or organizations such as sororities and fraternities were specifically exempt from Title IX requirements as long as they remained purely social (Ford). However, Congress acted after President Ronald Reagan’s veto by overriding it with a two-thirds majority. If that occurs, the bill becomes a law without the President's signature. This particular veto “reinstated the original intent of Title IX by passing the Civil Rights Restoration Act”, which means that any institution receiving any funds, not just in a particular program or activity, must comply with all civil rights laws (Ford). In the federal court case Cohen v. Brown University which ruled that Brown University was in clear violation of Title IX. Ford observes that the university “cut two women's teams and two men's teams” where the result of “cutting the two women's programs had saved the university more than $62,000, while eliminating the two men's programs saved only $16,000.” Therefore the female athletes from the cut programs sued the university for violating Title IX as they were “disproportionately affected by the cuts” (Ford). ...

...Television can be a wonderful thing. It brings about issues that can make people laugh and think, as well as cry and reflect. Being born in the nineteen-eighties have meant that I have grown-up with such television shows as Thundercats and Saved By the Bell by my side. Although there is a lot of humor and imagination involved in these programs, there is only one show that I have found to encompass all issues with an inevitable sense of humor. This show is none other than, The Simpsons. I have watched it religiously since the day it aired in 1988, along with many of my fellow students. There is just something irresistibly hilarious about the crudely drawn figures, each with a different attitude and temperament. With well over two...

...heaa CMS Expansion to Bundled Payments Jimmy Lei HCS/455 July 14, 2014 AuRiesheaua Bell CMS Expansion to Bundled Payments There are many articles that discusses different issues in health care reform. Recently, an article discussed about how hospitals, nursing homes and healthcare providers are ready to join Medicare’s test of bundled payments. According to the CMS website bundled payments is defined as, “Four broadly defined models of care, which link payments for multiple services beneficiaries receive during an episode of care.” (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid, 2014) The models consists of different focuses, which include acute care inpatient hospitalization, retrospective and prospective arrangements. The idea behind bundled payment is to increase quality of care and lower costs for Medicare. The fee for service model has been scrutinized by many who believe that it has perverse incentives for organizations to not efficiently provide care. According to the article, a reported 100 organizations are currently participating in the program; however the success of the organizations are unclear. The bundled payment initiative was introduced in 2013 under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act as an effort to shift financing of healthcare away from paying for each procedure. The bundled payments initiative is still in its infancy, so results are not solid; however many experts and officials say that it holds promise. Currently the initiative is in the experimental...
