1) Astronomy is the branch of science that deals with celestial objects, space and the physical universe in whole. Three specific challenges to making direct measurements in the fields of astronomy are: How to calculate how far away the stars are from the earth? How hot does the sun get? And how could we tell that there is life on Mars?
The way that scientist have utilized indirect forms of measure to overcome these challenges are.
To measure how far the stars are away from earth astronomers measures the distances to the close –by object. Then use the measurements observations to measure the other distance in the galaxies. This is a difficult because scientist cannot really make the correct measurements, its’ just a guess. Scientist can make direct measurements by using the Parallax to determine the distance of the stars, which can also guess the position of the plants.
For the measurement of how hot the sun can get NASA scientists have not been able to get close enough to the sun to actually determine how hot the sun is. Scientist estimate the temperature of the sun by how much radiation that comes from the ball of gas, the gamma-rays and also the X-rays from the sun are measured to be very hot according to www.imagine.gsfc.nasa.gov. The scientist uses a formula to measure the volume, density of the sun and the radius helps determine how hot the sun maybe. Scientist cannot get close enough to the sun to get the actual measurement.
For the final difficult task how can scientist tell that there is life on Mars? Scientists are able to test the theory if life can live on Mars. The only challenge is that scientist are guessing that there is water on mars, and also methane gas is on the planet, but that does not mean life can live on the planet. Scientists are guessing from

...Assignment 1 SCI 110 Date: 10/21/12 In this paper I will explain how energy can be modified from one pattern to another and give examples. I then will proceed by discussing what is meant by fossil fuels and explain why they are an attractive source of energy. Then, continue by describing two energy similarities to fossil fuels. I will also be discussing there way of functioning, how they compare with fossil fuels, and their pros and cons. Based on my research I leaned that energy can be modified from one example to another in various ways yet the total energy stays the same. The forces that are fundamental are nuclear, electromagnetic, gravitational and other objects that interact. The different forms in which they are categorized are as follows: chemical, radiant, nuclear, mechanical and electrical. Chemical energy involves chemical reactions and the chemical energy released is known as oxidation. It is stored and later released during chemical reaction. Radiant energy involves lights and other parts, its energy travels throughout space. Nuclear energy is used as a source in power plants and the mechanical energy is the type of energy of familiar objects and machines. The electrical energy travels to our homes through wires. The following are examples of Fossil fuels, petroleum, coal and natural gas. Fossil fuels have been stored through radiant energy which are organisms that lived millions of years ago. Management Theories

...MFG 1010 Assignment 1 Managers are required to perform many management roles in the workplace. Over the course of time, people have looked into an in depth analysis of management to come up with a number of theories and approaches to better understand it, so as to enable them to use it effectively in running their organisations. This essay will firstly explain in relation to CEO Sue Morphet the three specific categorization schemes that have been developed through time that describe what managers do. (Robbins, Bergman, Stagg and Coulter 2012, p.13). These specific categories are the functions, roles and skills of managers. It will then go on to discuss what managerial functions, roles, and skills CEO Sue Morphet would have to undertake in order to overcome to overcome the challenges posed by the negative publicity surrounding her organisation’s decision to move jobs overseas. This will be followed by how these approaches may be used effectively by managers to achieve desired outcomes for organizations. The essay will then be ended off with a conclusion. Management is seen as a process, “Planning, organising, leading and controlling of human and other resources to achieve organizational goals effectively and efficiently” (Waddell, Jones and George 2011, p.5). In other words management is getting a group of people together and organising them in a way to maintain the targeted set of goals by having low resources wastage and high goal attainment. Robbins et al., (2012)...
