Descriptive Writing Task
We had just finished a tiring day at school. We were now strolling briskly on our way home; it felt like it was miles away. The sun beamed on us as if it was watching us. Suddenly In a blink of an eye the sun disappeared and it poured down with rain, we saw a massive deserted house in front of us. As we headed towards the tree lined path, the tree’s towered over us as we walked towards the house. The house glared at us, I had unwanted feeling as if the house wanted us to retreat. But I ignored the signs and continued.
As we got to the porch we saw a timeworn door. We pushed the door and it creaked open, the big rusty hinges holding onto it for dear life. The cold breeze punched my face. We found ourselves in the hallway. All the furniture was covered in white sheets. The floor had a massive old red dirty carpet spread across the hall like butter. The wallpaper was hanging off the walls; revealing long jagged cracks. Glancing up my eyes were drawn to the huge gilt edged chandelier that was hanging precariously from the ceiling. it was the only thing that made the house look better.
Without warning I heard the floor boards creak upstairs, the hair prickled up my neck like a cat with a scare. I had a feel we weren’t alone in the house. My heart was beating faster than a cheetah. I felt in an awkward position as I couldn’t go outside and I didn’t want to be inside. There was a weird smell. It smelt like the house was rotting. The house was damp and mouldy, it was slowly deteriorating.
We both headed for the kitchen then in a flash we fell through the floorboards and landed in a pitch black basement. I was scared. I think I was having a nervous breakdown. Where did Jake go? I sure he fell with me. I found a light switch a turned it on I gazed in horror as I looked around the walls were covered in blood weapons sharp deadly weapons were hanging off the walls there were several tables in a row with cuffs. I stopped stunned a tear ran down my cold face. Bodies… they were in just laying in the corner. I ran to a door I tried to open in but it wouldn’t budge.
I fell to the ground unable to move I was petrified. I heard footsteps approaching towards the door so I shut the light and crouched behind a draw. My breath was getting faster and faster as the steps got closer and closer. The footsteps continued past the door. The sign of relief appeared on my face.
I stood up and realised there was a door behind the draw I pushed the draw away and opened the door there was a stairway. I walked up the stairs and saw another door. I opened it and I was back in the hall way. I dashed for the door and when I opened it police cars surrounded the house they ran through me I told them to help me but they ignored me I went to touch him and my mouth dropped in shock, my hand went through the police man. Then I realised I was already dead.
