A STUDY ON CONTEMPARORY MARKETING IN FMCG INDUSTRIES

Chapter - 1

Objective:
The main objective of taken this topic is that to find out the current marketing strategies adopted by the fmcg industries and that strategies exist only in short time period and very creatively attract to the customer. So to find out how to fmcg industries advertise their product with the help of contemporary concept.

INTRODUCTION OF THE TOPIC:
The word contemporary means the way to advertise your product in very innovative or creative way that customer can easily aware about the product and that strategy to advertise your product that exist short time period.
Outdoor advertision:
Out-of-home advertising (or outdoor advertising) is made up of more than 100 different formats, totaling $6.99 billion in annual revenues in 2008 in the USA.[1] Outdoor advertising is essentially any type of advertising that reaches the consumer while he or she is outside the home. This is in contrast with broadcast, print, and Internet advertising.
Out of home advertising, therefore, is focused on marketing to consumers when they are "on the go" in public places, in transit, waiting (such as in a medical office), and/or in specific commercial locations (such as in a retail venue). Outdoor advertising formats fall into four main categories: billboards, street furniture, transit, and alternative.
Social advertising:
Social marketing is the systematic application of marketing, along with other concepts and techniques, to achieve specific behavioral goals for a social good.[1] Social marketing can be applied to promote merit goods, or to make a society avoid demerit goods and thus to promote society's well being as a whole. For example, this may include asking people not to smoke in public areas, asking them to use seat belts, or prompting to make them follow speed limits.

...the book is composed of interesting stories that all relate to the workings of the unconscious. The stories are very interesting and once you start reading it, you won’t want to stop. Although it contains a lot of scientific jargon and contains many experiments and scientific studies, Gladwell makes it seem so interesting. Most of the examples he discusses are relatable to most readers which makes it much easier to read. One of the most relatable examples in my opinion is the Pepsi Challenge and the launch of New Coke. The Pepsi challenge involved Pepsi researchers conducting a blind taste test to see if people preferred Coke or Pepsi, and it revealed that people preferred Pepsi more often than Coke. The major flaw of that was that the people were just taking a sip and not drinking a whole can. Taking home a whole case of each and drinking them would change people’s opinion. Gladwell then challenged the readers who thought they could taste the difference between Coke and Pepsi to get a friend to fill two cups with one cola and one with the other and figure out which one is not like the other. Since I don’t drink soda, I challenged a few friends to this and sure enough, they couldn’t do it.
