GOODBYE MY LOVER, GOODBYE MY FRIEND

Step can see flashing lights around Paul, he had no more strength, to laugh, to joke, silently he strokes his friend’s face and he whisper sobbing: " I will miss you"; and God knows how he was true. Then a noise of a brisk brake is heard. Julie has just arrived. She has a pale face, and she is drenched in tears. She is suffering.

Step walk up to her.

Julie: "Step can I ask you a favor?"

Step: "anything you need!"

Julie: "I need a hug"

Step gets closer timidly, he opens his arms and nestles her. Now she is thinking about Paul and how in love she was.

Julie: "hug me tightly, tighter. As he was used to doing, you know, he always said me: so you will never run away. You will stay with me forever".

Julie puts her head on his shoulder.

Julie: “and instead he was the one that passed away"

She starts to cry

Julie: "you remind me to death of him. He always said that you were the only one that could understand him, that you two were equal."

Step is looking far away. He hugs her tightly, more tightly.

Step: that’s not true Julie. He was better than me, much better."

Julie sniff up her nose: "yes Step you are right".

Goodbye my lover

Did I disappoint you or let you down?
Should I be feeling guilty or let the judges frown?
'Cause I saw the end before we'd begun,
Yes I saw you were blinded and I knew I had won.
So I took what's mine by eternal right.
Took your soul out into the night.
It may be over but it won't stop there,
I am here for you if you'd only care.
You touched my heart you touched my soul.
You changed my life and all my goals.
And love is blind and that I knew when,
My heart was blinded by you.
I've kissed your lips and held your head.
Shared your dreams and shared your bed.
I know you well, I know your smell.
I've been addicted to you.

Goodbye my lover.
Goodbye my friend.
You have been the one.
You have been the one for me.

I am a dreamer but when I wake,
You can't break my spirit - it's my dreams you take.
And as you move on, remember me,
Remember us and all we used to be
I've seen you cry, I've seen you smile.
I've watched you sleeping for a while.
I'd be the father of your child.
I'd spend a lifetime with you.
I know your fears and you know mine.
We've had our doubts but now we're fine,
And I love you, I swear that's true.
I cannot live without you.

Goodbye my lover.
Goodbye my friend.
You have been the one.
You have been the one for me.

And I still hold your hand in mine.
In mine when I'm asleep.
And I will bare my soul in time, when I'm kneeling at your feet.
Goodbye my lover.
Goodbye my friend.
You have been the one.
You have been the one for me.

I'm so hollow, baby, I'm so hollow.
I'm so, I'm so, I'm so hollow.
I'm so hollow, baby, I'm so hollow.
I'm so, I'm so, I’m so hollow
STORY BEYOND THE SONG

I read the song as the goodbye of a man to his girlfriend and to his best friend since he’s not alive anymore.
My dialogue intends to be the conversation between the two guys that have just lost one of the most important people in their life.
In a completely different context from the pact, Julie as Rameck will need to move on without her beloved.

Perfect Song

...The song I chose for the “perfect marriage of music, lyric, and performance” mold is Crossroads by Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. This is honestly one of my favorite songs of all time. All of the elements of the song just seem to flow together and seem right for each other. The song's beat is a slow and deep beat. It gives you the feeling of floating away. It plays in with the lyrics and delivery of the message perfectly. I would say this song really is “music to my ears”. The lyrics of this song are hands down the best I have heard in any Rap, Hip-Hop or R&B ever; not to mention how meaningful they are. They don't necessarily tell a specific story of any kind, but rather the struggles that everyone seems to endure when they are faced with dilemmas. Some of the dilemmas discussed are life, death, money, and just the everyday grind associated with being an underprivileged person trying to make a living. The lyrics bring to your attention that everyone has their own judgment day, how you react to it is on you. You just have to have faith in the Lord and expect that he has the best planned for you and your afterlife, no matter what some of the unethical things you did on earth may be. The song explains the good things about dying, and the bad. Bone Thugs made the comment in the lyrics that when they die, they want to be buried next to loved ones and can't wait to see them in heaven. In retrospect, they sing about praying everyday to the lord, still he takes them away, but deep down they...

You are modelling skills and empowering them to model to each other as well. Children leading others is a very powerful re-inforcer and motivator. 2) Injecting backing tracks into lessons at key points • allows you ‘pick up’ or ‘calm down’ a lesson depending upon the mood. • allows you to overlay any lyrical content that you want to highlight from your lesson. • You can use songs from Sing Up website but you can also simply use the backing tracks of some key songs Example Let’s Dance backing track from Sing Up website Suggest some lyrics to practise to this track from any work you have done today. What other ‘support’ might you need to give then to help them come up with some lyrical ideas? How could you build this in to the work you do on a topic so that this support is already there before you play the track? eg: Key word...

For my family it has been easier to convert to the norms and values of the United States, but for others I have seen their struggles to be...

Sunset Song

...Lewis Grassic Gibbon’s “Sunset Song” features the hugely successful main character Chris Guthrie,, Chris is a very persuasive character, convincing and believable, She effectively gains the sympathies, through her warm and vital personality and her development throughout the novel. At the beginning of the novel, Chris is a young girl. She is completely innocent, and unaware of her attitude towards sex; “kissed with her kind , red lips…… it was over in a moment, quick and shameful, fine for all that tingling and strange”. She doesn’t fully understand the appeal of kissing but feels it, Chris’s sexual development is tracked from her innocent youth, throughout the confusion and experience of adolescence, until her sexual development ends with her marriage to Ewan. During her development she seems to the reader to be reasonable and level headed. She is not affected by the ‘harvest madness’, that causes a wave of sexual activity. It makes her stand out from the rest of the community, her experiences are engaging but not always pleasant, and makes her sexual development realistic and interesting for the reader. The difference between Chris and the rest of the Kinraddie community in terms of sex continue to illustrate Chris as completely human and real. Her immediate family’s views are distorted concerning sex and she has to struggle to make her own choices; her father is conflicted between sexual desire and the sin of sex and her mother has developed a fear of sex and child...

Song Of Roland

...In The Song of Roland we see a constant battle between the Saracens and the Franks. The Saracens, Spain, was ruled by Marsilla and represents the Muslims while the Franks, France, was ruled by Charlemagne and represents the Christians. In The Prince, by Machiavelli, we see an evaluation of how to acquire and maintain good power. It was dedicated to Lorenzo Medici in order to argue what favors a good ruler and what possessions are most valuable for them. Both engage in what is considered a good ruler and the qualities of it. The Song of Roland society is organized in a feudalism way. It is a social structure divided between classes. It is an advantage for society since it provides protection, stability and order to society. It is also a mutual relationship since everyone offers something. Charlemagne, which is parallel to God, looks at loyalty as one of the most important characteristics of a good ruler. He says that loyalty determines everything else in life. Leaders are the ones able to reward or punish people based on their actions. As he provides for his people, his people provides for him. Besides being loyal, The Song of Roland teaches us that a good leader has to be brave in battle and be like the epic heroes from the past. They are considered to have fame,...

He wrote the song “The Times They Are A-Changin.” In this song, he says “there’s a battle outside, and it’s ragin’, it’ll soon shake your windows, rattle your walls.” One can argue that these lyrics were an obvious reference to the Vietnam War. “Edwin Starr’s Motown anthem “War” convinced many listeners of the complex horrors of the Vietnam War through an instantly-recognizable melody. The song, written in 1969, is perhaps the most direct anti-war protest song ever recorded” (Hopkins, 2012). Hopkins and many other musicians from the era made music to attract audiences against...

Song of Roland - Roland and Oliver

...The Song of Roland is a French poem written between 1040 and 1115. The poem, considered a medieval literature, is based on a battle that took place in 788 A.D involving the army of Charlemagne and the Saracens . The poem was originally written as propaganda and to provide a certain version of historical truth. Embodied within the poetry are the characters of Roland and Oliver. Despite the name of the song, the analysis of both characters illustrates that both Roland and Oliver can be considered heroic to the extent that each character reflects certain attributes of what is considered a hero in medieval literature. Nonetheless it is also possible that one character may possess more heroic qualities than another. This essay firstly examines the notion of a hero in relation to medieval literature. Secondly, the figures of Roland and Oliver are compared to show how both these characters shed light on the nature of medieval heroic ideals. The song of Roland portrays the quality of a medieval hero through the dichotomy of the two characters. The characterisations of Roland and Oliver sheds light on the nature of medieval heroic ideals in that, to be a complete hero, one needs to possess all the traits which both Roland and Oliver possess. However the poet recognises that no one man can possess all such traits thus resulting in a tragic dichotomy of ideals. However one character may be considered more of a hero than another, and as argued by Fraser, Roland can ultimately be viewed...

Comparison Of Siddhartha And Song Of Myself

...The novel Siddhartha by Herman Hesse examines the life of Siddhartha, the main character as he goes on a journey searching for Nirvana. Likewise, the poem “Song of Myself” by Walt Whitman also depicts a man’s journey of personal discovery. Whitman begins his poem exclaiming to an unknown listener that is “large and contains multitudes” (Whitman 8). With these words, the poet is saying he is a complex person who is interested about the world. The poet sees the world as exciting and multifaceted. Similar to his vision of the world, the poet’s soul is convoluted and contradictory. Like Whiteman, Siddhartha has a restless soul. For example, “his intellect was not satisfied, his soul was not at peace, his heart was not still” (Hesse 5). Moreover,...
