...Taipei, Taiwan, Republic of China Abstract Purpose – This study aims to examine how technology readiness (TR) influences customers’ perception and adoption of self-service technologies (SSTs) through development of an empirical model to explore the relationships among TR, perceived service quality, satisfaction and behavioral intentions toward SSTs. Design/methodology/approach – A theoretical framework is proposed to suggest the links between the four constructs. Extant research and concepts from various fields, including marketing, psychology and information system (IS), are reviewed, deriving six hypotheses. Data from SST users is examined through structural equation modeling (SEM). Findings – Results indicate TR influences perceived SST service quality and behavioral intentions, while perceived SST service quality has a positive impact on customer satisfaction and behavioral intentions toward SSTs. Research limitations/implications – This study represents an early attempt at explaining the role of TR in customer SST usage. Future research directions are discussed, with an emphasis on incorporating attitudinal, behavioral, situational and psychographic factors to improve our understanding of SST usage. Practical implications – TR should be given increased attention by firms implementing SSTs to improve customer perception...

...STATISTICS FOR ENGINEERS (EQT 373) TUTORIAL CHAPTER 3 – INTRODUCTORY LINEAR REGRESSION 1) Given 5 observations for two variables, x and y. | 3 | 12 | 6 | 20 | 14 | | 55 | 40 | 55 | 10 | 15 | a. Develop a scatter diagram for these data. b. What does the scatter diagram developed in part (a) indicate about the relationship between the two variables? c. Develop the estimated regression equation by computing the values and. d. Use the estimated regression equation to predict the value of y when x=10. e. Compute the coefficient of determination. Comment on the goodness of fit. f. Compute the sample correlation coefficient (r) and explain the result. 2) The Tenaga Elektik MN Company is studying the relationship between kilowatt-hours (thousands) used and the number of room in a private single-family residence. A random sample of 10 homes yielded the following. Number of rooms | Kilowatt-Hours (thousands) | 12 9 14 6 10 8 10 10 5 7 | 9 7 10 5 8 6 8 10 4 7 | a. Identify the independent and dependent variable. b. Compute the coefficient of correlation and explain. c. Compute the coefficient of determination and explain. d. Test whether there is a positive correlation between both variables. Use α=0.05. e. Determine the regression equation (used Least Square method) f. Determine the value of kilowatt-hours used if number of rooms is 11. g. Can you use the model in (f.) to predict the kilowatt-hours if number of rooms...

...HOW TO USE YOUR HP 12 C CALCULATOR This document is designed to provide you with (1) the basics of how your HP 12C financial calculator operates, and (2) the typical keystrokes that will be required on the CFA examination. In this tutorial, the following keystroke and data entry conventions will be used. < • > and [•] Denote keystrokes {•} Denotes data input A. Setting Up Your HP 12C Important note: The keys of the HP 12C calculator have been assigned multiple functions. Keys are assigned white, orange and blue color codes. To enable the white coded function, just press the desired key. For the orange coded function, press the key at the bottom of the calculator followed by the desired key. For the blue coded function, press the key at the bottom of the calculator followed by the desired key. In this user guide, all keys are referred to by their white coded function, as they are easier to read and easier to identify. The following is a list of the basic preliminary set up features of your HP 12C. You should understand these keystrokes before you begin work on statistical or Time Value of Money (TVM) functions. Please note that your calculator’s sign convention requires that one of the TVM inputs ([PV], [FV], or [PMT]) be a negative number. Intuitively, this negative value represents the cash outflow that will occur in a TVM problem. 1. To set the number of decimal places that show in your calculator display screen: < f > → {Desired # of decimal places} For the exam, I would...

...surveys worldwide. It is a major parasite of rice, sugar cane, sorghum, bean, soybean, and is especially common on maize grains (Pitt, et al. 1994). According to (De Leon and Pandey 1989; King and Scott 1981; Ochor et al. 1987), F. proliferatum causes a disease called Fusarium kernel rot. In parts of the USA and lowlands tropics, this is one of the most important ear diseases and is associated with warm, dry years and insect damaged fields. Czembor, et al. (2015) stated that maize is one of the most important crops in Poland. Diseases caused by Fusarium spp. can affect the yield and grain quality of maize because of contamination with numerous mycotoxins produced by these fungi. Similar results were obtained from 148 samples of maize from the Philippines, and 82 samples of maize from Indonesia. F. proliferatum persisted in high numbers in stored maize from the both countries (Pitt, et al.,1993). (Zainudinet al., 2008b; NurIzzati and Salleh, 2009), stated that F. proliferatum have been isolated and found to be associated with bakanae disease in Malaysian rice varieties. Measures were taken to control the disease such as the chlorothalonil which is a commonly used fungicide in rural and urban environments that can be applied through direct overspray and drift from aerial applications especially on those plants that are affected by fungal diseases ( Sherrard et al. 2003). Yet,...

...PART ONE • UNDERSTANDING SERVICES SERVICES IN THE MODERN ECONOMY As consumers, we use services every day. Turning on a light, watching TV, talking on the telephone, riding a bus, visiting the dentist, mailing a letter, getting a haircut, refueling a car, writing a check, or sending clothes to the cleaners are all examples of service consumption at the individual level. T h e institution at which you are studying is itself a c o m p l e x service organization. In addition to educational services, today's college facilities usually include libraries and cafeterias, counseling, a bookstore, placement offices, copy services, telecommunications, and even a bank. If you are enrolled at a residential university, campus services are also likely to include dormitories, health care, indoor and o u t d o o r athletic facilities, a theater, and perhaps a post office. Customers are not always happy with the quality and value of the services they receive. People complain a b o u t late deliveries, r u d e or i n c o m p e t e n t personnel, i n c o n v e n i e n t service h o u r s , p o o r p e r f o r m a n c e , and needlessly complicated p r o cedures. T h e y grumble about the difficulty of finding sales clerks to help t h e m in retail stores, express frustration about mistakes on their credit card bills or bank statements, shake their heads over the complexity of new self-service equipment, m u t ter about p o o r value, and sigh as they are forced to wait in line almost everywhere...
