After reading your novel, I understand the struggles and challenges that you and all of the Jews went through. You really helped me understand your experience through the holocaust. There was obviously a reason you wrote the novel I feel like it was to betray the theme of survival. For example like you said in the novel, you nearly starved and froze to death. Hitler worked all of the Jews to death and then they supplied you with very little bread, water and soup and sometimes not any at all. If they seen you were sick and about to die then they did not see the point in feeding you. Then at night you said you slept nearly naked and had no blankets with it thirty below. I feel like going through this was very hard because people today do not have to conquer the events of the holocaust. …show more content…
This had to of been tough trying to hide away from being watched. There were guards everywhere watching and making sure you didn’t escape the camp. Today people have free rights and can go wherever, whenever and we don’t think about how tough it was for you and other adults and children during that horrifying event, because we have it made. You said repeatedly how hard and how much they worked all of the freezing Jews. They worked you so hard that you hurt your leg and had to go into surgery and when you got out they still made you work in the cold snow even with your wound open and bleeding. The way you made it seem was that it was really hard to survive the holocaust especially being a fifteen year old, young boy. I can tell that survival was the main theme of your book because of how strong and brave you had to be to
