Throughout this case, there are stakeholders that have in mind interests and goals of their own to accomplish at the end. The group of stakeholders would include, Sue Kolb, Bronco Resources Inc., Hospital corporation of America(HCA), Valley View Hospital, the Federal Government, and the public.
Sue Kolb- As the CFO and a licensed CPA, her main duty is to keep all the financial statement information to be legally updated to its ethical potential and to keep it away from any unethical practices that would lead to fraud. After realizing that there was a unethical practices being done by the Bronco Resources Inc., Sue Kolb has the responsibility to stay away from the continuation of cheating the government by putting in place higher amounts of …show more content…
They have created in their accounting system to include two different ways of constructing the numbers towards the government. One of the two accounting paths is an unethical practice to charge higher percentages of money for the Medicare reimbursements to the government. High percentage is existed that the authority and government will end up realizing about the fraud committed by Bronco Resources Inc.
Valley View hospital- The overall responsible to having the authority in accepting the one in charge of the accounting unethical practices. Valley View Hospital accepted Bronco Resources Inc. and hired them. The unethical practices surround Valley View since the accounting fraud done by Bronco Resources Inc. was permitted since the beginning.
Federal Government- At the end, the government is being hurt by the fraud intended towards them by Bronco Resources Inc., but this would lead to high consequences whenever they find out about the unethical practices. The main recommendation for Kolb is to at the end follow the AICPA Code of Professional Conduct. Following special rules inside the code of conduct can permit Kolb into avoiding and getting into the issue of judgement around the whole unethical practices occurring in the hospital environmental workforce. Considering the Certified Public Accounting section in the AICPA Code of Professional Conduct, inside the rule 102 it is proven that there should be a high recommendation for in this case Kolb to conduct the report of the specific unethical practices occurring. Kolb ethical obligation explained in the Code of Professional Conduct would be to report the unethical accounting system done by Bronco Resources Inc. to the upper personnel (the organization in charge to represent the consequences) that is more likely to take charge of the damage done towards the government and the public. At the end, by conducting this ethical behavior and obligation by Kolb, the government would be alert by any false accounting in the future by any other organizations such as Bronco Resources Inc. and the public involve in any interests within the hospital to be well acknowledged of what is occurring at the time of risking any amounts of
