The purpose of this source is to inform and educate mainly college-level students on politics during the Roman republic and how Sulla became to be who he is remembered as today with a language that is to the point and not as complicated to understand. This was helpful in understanding Sulla’s early life and how he came to rise in power. It was not recently written, but was published by a respected publisher company, and written by an author who has published many other books on ancient Roman history.
