Throughout Chris Crowe's book; Mississippi Trial, he goes through the characters and what happens with them. The main characters, brought up in Mississippi Trial, were Hiram and Earl. Hiram believed in what was right and did the right things; Earl, Hiram's grandfather, thought he was doing the right thing for what he believed in which may not have always been the accurate choice. This book portrays how some civilians did not get treated fairly, and how the other civilians were treated. Equality was not displayed in Chris Crowe’s, Mississippi Trial, 1955. Women and workers weren’t treated fairly as presented in Mississippi Trial. Everyone was not treated the same because of their color or sex. Earl sees his grandson
